8And at the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428commandmentוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559they madeוַֽיַּעֲשׂ֖וּvai.ya.'a.SuH6213aאֶחָ֑ד'e.ChadH259chestאֲר֣וֹן'a.RonH727,and setוַֽיִּתְּנֻ֛הוּvai.yi.te.Nu.huH5414it withoutחֽוּצָה׃Chu.tzahH2351at the gateבְּשַׁ֥עַרbe.Sha.'arH8179of the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068.

12And the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428and Jehoiadaוִֽיהוֹיָדָ֗עvi.ho.ya.Da'H3077gaveוַיִּתְּנֵ֨הוּvai.yi.te.Ne.huH5414it to such as didעוֹשֵׂה֙o.SehH6213the workמְלֶ֙אכֶת֙me.Le.khetH4399of the serviceעֲבוֹדַ֣תa.vo.DatH5656of the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and hiredשֹׂכְרִים֙so.khe.RimH7936masonsחֹצְבִ֣יםcho.tze.VimH2672and carpentersוְחָרָשִׁ֔יםve.cha.ra.ShimH2796to repairלְחַדֵּ֖שׁle.cha.DeshH2318the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,and also such as wroughtלְחָרָשֵׁ֤יle.cha.ra.SheiH2796ironבַרְזֶל֙var.ZelH1270and brassוּנְחֹ֔שֶׁתu.ne.Cho.shetH5178to mendלְחַזֵּ֖קle.cha.ZekH2388the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

15But Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֛עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077waxed oldוַיִּזְקַ֧ןvai.yiz.KanH2204,and was fullוַיִּשְׂבַּ֥עvai.yis.Ba'H7646of daysיָמִ֖יםya.MimH3117when he diedוַיָּמֹ֑תvai.ya.MotH4191;an hundredמֵאָ֧הme.'AhH3967and thirtyוּשְׁלֹשִׁ֛יםu.she.lo.ShimH7970yearsשָׁנָ֖הsha.NahH8141oldבֶּן־ben-H1121was hewhen he diedבְּמוֹתֽוֹ׃be.mo.ToH4194.
16And they buriedוַיִּקְבְּרֻ֥הוּvai.yik.be.Ru.huH6912him in the cityבְעִיר־ve.'ir-H5892of Davidדָּוִ֖ידda.VidH1732among the kingsהַמְּלָכִ֑יםha.me.la.KhimH4428,because he had doneעָשָׂ֤ה'a.SahH6213goodטוֹבָה֙to.VahH2896in Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לbe.Yis.ra.'ElH3478,both toward Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,and toward his houseוּבֵיתֽוֹ׃ סu.vei.ToH1004.
17Now afterוְאַֽחֲרֵ֥יve.'a.cha.ReiH310the deathמוֹת֙mOtH4194of Jehoiadaיְה֣וֹיָדָ֔עye.Ho.ya.Da'H3077cameבָּ֚אוּBa.'uH935the princesשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,and made obeisanceוַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֖וּvai.yish.ta.cha.VuH7812to the kingלַמֶּ֑לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428.Then the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428hearkenedשָׁמַ֥עsha.Ma'H8085unto them.
18And they leftוַיַּֽעַזְב֗וּvai.ya.'az.VuH5800the houseבֵּ֤יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of their fathersאֲבוֹתֵיהֶ֔ם'a.vo.tei.HemH1,and servedוַיַּֽעַבְד֥וּvai.ya.'av.DuH5647grovesהָאֲשֵׁרִ֖יםha.'a.she.RimH842and idolsהָֽעֲצַבִּ֑יםha.'a.tza.BimH6091:and wrathקֶ֗צֶףKe.tzefH7110came upon Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063and Jerusalemוִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םvi.Ru.sha.LimH3389for this their trespassבְּאַשְׁמָתָ֖םbe.'ash.ma.TamH819.

21And they conspiredוַיִּקְשְׁר֣וּvai.yik.she.RuH7194against him, and stonedוַיִּרְגְּמֻ֥הוּvai.yir.ge.Mu.huH7275him with stonesאֶ֖בֶן'E.venH68at the commandmentבְּמִצְוַ֣תbe.mitz.VatH4687of the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428in the courtבַּחֲצַ֖רba.cha.TzarH2691of the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.
22Thus Joashיוֹאָ֣שׁyo.'AshH3101the kingהַמֶּ֗לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428rememberedזָכַ֞רza.KharH2142not the kindnessהַחֶ֙סֶד֙ha.Che.sedH2617which Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֤עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077his fatherאָבִיו֙'a.VivH1had doneעָשָׂ֜ה'a.SahH6213to him, but slewוַֽיַּהֲרֹ֖גvai.ya.ha.RogH2026his sonבְּנ֑וֹbe.NoH1121.And when he diedH4194,he saidאָמַ֔ר'a.MarH559,The Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068lookיֵ֥רֶאYe.re'H7200upon it,and requireוְיִדְרֹֽשׁ׃ פve.yid.RoshH1875it.
23And it came to pass at the endלִתְקוּפַ֣תlit.ku.FatH8622of the yearהַשָּׁנָ֗הha.sha.NahH8141, thatthe hostחֵ֣ילcheilH2428of Syriaאֲרָם֒'a.RamH758came upעָלָ֣ה'a.LahH5927against him: and they cameוַיָּבֹ֗אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063and Jerusalemוִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םvi.Ru.sha.LimH3389,and destroyedוַיַּשְׁחִ֛יתוּvai.yash.Chi.tuH7843all the princesשָׂרֵ֥יsa.ReiH8269of the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971from among the peopleמֵעָ֑םme.'AmH5971,and sentשִׁלְּח֖וּshi.le.ChuH7971all the spoilשְׁלָלָ֥םshe.la.LamH7998of them unto the kingלְמֶ֥לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428of Damascusדַּרְמָֽשֶׂק׃dar.Ma.sekH1834.
24For the armyחֵ֣ילcheilH2428of the Syriansאֲרָ֗ם'a.RamH758cameבָּ֣אוּ׀Ba.'uH935with a smallבְמִצְעַ֨רve.mitz.'ArH4705company of menאֲנָשִׁ֜ים'a.na.ShimH582,and the Lordוַֽיהוָה֙va.Yah.wehH3068deliveredנָתַ֨ןna.TanH5414a veryמְאֹ֔דme.'OdH3966greatלָרֹ֣בla.RoH7230hostחַ֙יִל֙cha.yilH2428into their handבְּיָדָ֥םbe.ya.DamH3027,because they had forsakenעָֽזְב֔וּ'a.ze.VuH5800the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of their fathersאֲבוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם'a.vo.tei.HemH1.So they executedעָשׂ֥וּ'a.SuH6213judgmentשְׁפָטִֽים׃she.fa.TimH8201against Joashיוֹאָ֖שׁyo.'AshH3101.
25And when they were departedH3212from him, (for they leftעָזְב֣וּ'a.ze.VuH5800him in greatרַבִּים֒ra.BimH7227diseasesבְּמַחֲלוּיִ֣םbe.ma.cha.li.yimH4251,)his own servantsעֲבָדָ֗יו'a.va.DavH5650conspiredהִתְקַשְּׁר֨וּhit.ka.she.RuH7194against him for the bloodבִּדְמֵי֙bid.MeiH1818of the sonsבְּנֵי֙be.NeiH1121of Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֣עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548,and slewוַיַּֽהַרְגֻ֥הוּvai.ya.har.Gu.huH2026him on his bedמִטָּת֖וֹmi.ta.ToH4296,and he diedוַיָּמֹ֑תvai.ya.MotH4191:and they buriedוַֽיִּקְבְּרֻ֙הוּ֙vai.yik.be.Ru.huH6912him in the cityבְּעִ֣ירbe.'IrH5892of Davidדָּוִ֔ידda.VidH1732,but they buriedקְבָרֻ֖הוּke.va.Ru.huH6912him not in the sepulchresבְּקִבְר֥וֹתbe.kiv.RotH6913of the kingsהַמְּלָכִֽים׃ סha.me.la.KhimH4428.
26And these are they that conspiredהַמִּתְקַשְּׁרִ֣יםha.mit.ka.she.RimH7194against him; Zabadזָבָ֗דza.VadH2066the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Shimeathשִׁמְעָת֙shim.'AtH8100an AmmonitessH5985,and Jehozabadוִיה֣וֹזָבָ֔דvi.Ho.za.VadH3075the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Shimrithשִׁמְרִ֖יתshim.RitH8116a Moabitessהַמּוֹאָבִֽית׃ha.mo.'a.VitH4125.
