16And Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָע֙ye.ho.ya.Da'H3077madeוַיִּכְרֹ֤תvai.yikh.RotH3772a covenantבְּרִ֔יתbe.RitH1285between him, and between all the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971,and between the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,that they should be the Lord’sלַיהוָֽה׃la.Yah.wehH3068peopleלְעָ֖םle.'AmH5971.

17Then all the peopleהָעָ֤םha.'AmH5971wentוַיָּבֹ֨אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of Baalהַבַּ֙עַל֙ha.Ba.'alH1168,and brake it downוַֽיִּתְּצֻ֔הוּvai.yi.te.Tzu.huH5422,and brakeH7665his altarsמִזְבְּחֹתָ֥יוmiz.be.cho.TavH4196and his imagesצְלָמָ֖יוtze.la.MavH6754in piecesH7665,and slewהָרְג֖וּha.re.GuH2026Mattanמַתָּן֙ma.TanH4977the priestכֹּהֵ֣ןko.HenH3548of Baalהַבַּ֔עַלha.Ba.'alH1168beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the altarsהַֽמִּזְבְּחֽוֹת׃Ha.miz.be.ChotH4196.

18Also Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֨עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077appointedוַיָּשֶׂם֩vai.ya.SemH7760the officesפְּקֻדֹּ֜תpe.ku.DotH6486of the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068by the handבְּיַ֨דbe.YadH3027of the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֣יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548the Levitesהַלְוִיִּם֮hal.vi.YimH3881,whom Davidדָּוִיד֮da.VidH1732had distributedחָלַ֣קcha.LakH2505in the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָה֒Yah.wehH3068,to offerלְֽהַעֲל֞וֹתle.ha.'a.LotH5927the burnt offeringsעֹל֣וֹתo.LotH5930of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068, as it iswrittenכַּכָּת֛וּבka.ka.TuvH3789in the lawבְּתוֹרַ֥תbe.to.RatH8451of Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872,with rejoicingבְּשִׂמְחָ֣הbe.sim.ChahH8057and with singingוּבְשִׁ֑ירu.ve.ShirH7892, as it was ordainedbyיְדֵ֥יye.DeiH3027Davidדָוִֽיד׃da.VidH1732.

19And he setוַֽיַּעֲמֵד֙vai.ya.'a.MedH5975the portersהַשּׁ֣וֹעֲרִ֔יםha.Sho.'a.RimH7778at the gatesשַׁעֲרֵ֖יsha.'a.ReiH8179of the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068, that none which wasuncleanטָמֵ֖אta.Me'H2931in any thingדָּבָֽר׃da.VarH1697should enter inיָבֹ֥אya.Vo'H935.

20And he tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947the captainsשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269of hundredsהַמֵּא֡וֹתha.me.'otH3967,and the noblesהָֽאַדִּירִים֩ha.'a.di.RimH117,and the governorsהַמּֽוֹשְׁלִ֨יםha.mo.she.LimH4910of the peopleבָּעָ֜םba.'AmH5971,and all the peopleעַ֣ם'amH5971of the landהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776,and brought downוַיּ֤וֹרֶדvai.Yo.redH3381the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428from the houseמִבֵּ֣יתmi.BeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068:and they cameוַיָּבֹ֛אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935throughבְּתֽוֹךְ־be.tokh-H8432the highהָֽעֶלְי֖וֹןha.'el.YonH5945gateשַׁ֥עַרSha.'arH8179into the king’sהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004,and setוַיּוֹשִׁ֙יבוּ֙vai.yo.Shi.vuH3427the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428upon the throneכִּסֵּ֥אki.Se'H3678of the kingdomהַמַּמְלָכָֽה׃ha.mam.la.KhahH4467.

21And all the peopleעַם־'am-H5971of the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776rejoicedוַיִּשְׂמְח֥וּvai.yis.me.ChuH8055:and the cityוְהָעִ֣ירve.ha.'IrH5892was quietשָׁקָ֑טָהsha.Ka.tahH8252,after that they had slainהֵמִ֥יתוּhe.Mi.tuH4191Athaliahעֲתַלְיָ֖הוּ'a.tal.Ya.huH6271with the swordבֶחָֽרֶב׃ סve.Cha.revH2719.
