1And Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559in his heartלִבּ֔וֹli.BoH3820,I shall now perishאֶסָּפֶ֥ה'e.sa.PehH5595oneאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259dayיוֹם־yom-H3117by the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of Saulשָׁא֑וּלsha.'UlH7586: there isnothing betterט֜וֹבTovH2896for me than thatכִּ֣יkiH3588I should speedilyהִמָּלֵ֥טhi.ma.LetH4422escapeאִמָּלֵ֣ט׀'i.ma.LetH4422into the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֗יםpe.lish.TimH6430;and Saulשָׁאוּל֙sha.'UlH7586shall despairוְנוֹאַ֨שׁve.no.'AshH2976of me, to seekלְבַקְשֵׁ֤נִיle.vak.She.niH1245me any more in any coastגְּב֣וּלge.VulH1366of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478:so shall I escapeוְנִמְלַטְתִּ֖יve.nim.la.TiH4422out of his handמִיָּדֽוֹ׃mi.ya.DoH3027.

2And Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732aroseוַיָּ֣קָםvai.Ya.komH6965,and he passed overוַיַּעֲבֹ֣רvai.ya.'a.VorH5674with the sixוְשֵׁשׁ־ve.shesh-H8337hundredמֵא֥וֹתme.'otH3967menאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376that werewith him unto Achishאָכִ֥ישׁ'a.KhishH397,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Maochמָע֖וֹךְma.'okhH4582,kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Gathגַּֽת׃GatH1661.

3And Davidדָּוִ֨דda.VidH1732dweltוַיֵּשֶׁב֩vai.ye.ShevH3427with Achishאָכִ֥ישׁ'a.KhishH397at Gathבְּגַ֛תbe.GatH1661,he and his menוַאֲנָשָׁ֖יוva.'a.na.ShavH582,every manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376with his householdוּבֵית֑וֹu.vei.ToH1004, evenDavidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732with his twoוּשְׁתֵּ֣יu.she.TeiH8147wivesנָשָׁ֔יוna.ShavH802,Ahinoamאֲחִינֹ֙עַם֙'a.chi.No.'amH293the JezreelitessH3159,and Abigailוַאֲבִיגַ֥יִלva.'a.vi.Ga.yilH26the CarmelitessH3762,Nabal’sנָבָ֖לna.ValH5037wifeאֵֽשֶׁת־'e.shet-H802.

4And it was toldוַיֻּגַּ֣דvai.yu.GadH5046Saulלְשָׁא֔וּלle.sha.'UlH7586that Davidדָּוִ֖דda.VidH1732was fledבָרַ֥חva.RachH1272to Gathגַּ֑תGatH1661:and he soughtלְבַקְשֽׁוֹ׃ סle.vak.ShoH1245no more againיָסַ֥ףyo.safH3254for him.

5And Davidדָּוִ֜דda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Achishאָכִ֗ישׁ'a.KhishH397,If I have now foundמָצָ֨אתִיma.Tza.tiH4672graceחֵ֤ןchenH2580in thine eyesבְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙be.'ei.Nei.khaH5869,let them giveיִתְּנוּ־yi.te.nu-H5414me a placeמָק֗וֹםma.KomH4725in someבְּאַחַ֛תbe.'a.ChatH259townעָרֵ֥י'a.ReiH5892in the countryהַשָּׂדֶ֖הha.sa.DehH7704,that I may dwellוְאֵ֣שְׁבָהve.'E.she.vahH3427there: for why should thy servantעַבְדְּךָ֛'av.de.KhaH5650dwellיֵשֵׁ֧בye.ShevH3427in the royalהַמַּמְלָכָ֖הha.mam.la.KhahH4467cityבְּעִ֥ירbe.'IrH5892with thee?

6Then Achishאָכִ֛ישׁ'a.KhishH397gaveוַיִּתֶּן־vai.yi.ten-H5414him Ziklagצִֽקְלָ֑גtzik.LagH6860that dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117:wherefore Ziklagצִֽקְלַג֙tzik.LagH6860pertaineth unto the kingsלְמַלְכֵ֣יle.mal.KheiH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063unto this dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.

7And the timeמִסְפַּ֣ר הַיָּמִ֔יםmis.Par hai.ya.MimH3117 H4557that Davidדָּוִ֖דda.VidH1732dweltיָשַׁ֥בya.ShavH3427in the countryבִּשְׂדֵ֣הbis.DehH7704of the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֑יםfe.lish.TimH6430was a full yearיָמִ֖יםya.MimH3117and fourוְאַרְבָּעָ֥הve.'ar.ba.'AhH702monthsחֳדָשִֽׁים׃cho.da.ShimH2320.
