4Then saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559Jonathanיְהוֹנָתָ֖ןye.ho.na.TanH3083unto Davidדָּוִ֑דda.VidH1732,Whatsoever thy soulנַפְשְׁךָ֖naf.she.KhaH5315desirethתֹּאמַ֥רto.MarH559,I will even doוְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־ve.'e.'e.seh-H6213it for thee.

5And Davidדָּוִ֜דda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Jonathanיְהוֹנָתָ֗ןye.ho.na.TanH3083,Behold, to morrowמָחָ֔רma.CharH4279isthe new moonחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙cho.deshH2320,and I should not failיָשֹׁב־ya.shov-H3427to sitאֵשֵׁ֥ב'e.ShevH3427with the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428at meatלֶאֱכ֑וֹלle.'e.KholH398:but let me goוְשִׁלַּחְתַּ֙נִי֙ve.shi.lach.Ta.niH7971,that I may hideוְנִסְתַּרְתִּ֣יve.nis.tar.TiH5641myself in the fieldבַשָּׂדֶ֔הva.sa.DehH7704unto the thirdהַשְּׁלִשִֽׁית׃ha.she.li.ShitH7992dayat evenהָעֶ֥רֶבha.'E.revH6153.

6If thy fatherאָבִ֑יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1at allפָּקֹ֥דpa.KodH6485missיִפְקְדֵ֖נִיyif.ke.De.niH6485me, then sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֗ve.'a.mar.TaH559,Davidדָוִד֙da.VidH1732earnestlyנִשְׁאֹל֩nish.'OlH7592askedנִשְׁאַ֨לnish.'AlH7592leaveof me that he might runלָרוּץ֙la.RutzH7323to Beth–lehemH1035his cityעִיר֔וֹi.RoH5892: for there isa yearlyהַיָּמִ֛יםhai.ya.MimH3117sacrificeזֶ֧בַחZe.vachH2077there for all the familyהַמִּשְׁפָּחָֽה׃ha.mish.pa.ChahH4940.

7If he sayיֹאמַ֛רyo.MarH559thus, It iswellט֖וֹבTovH2896;thy servantלְעַבְדֶּ֑ךָle.'av.De.khaH5650shall have peaceשָׁל֣וֹםsha.LomH7965:but if he be veryחָרֹ֤הcha.RohH2734wrothיֶֽחֱרֶה֙ye.che.RehH2734, thenbe sureדַּ֕עda'H3045that evilהָרָעָ֖הha.ra.'AhH7451is determinedכָלְתָ֥הkhal.TahH3615by him.

8Therefore thou shalt dealוְעָשִׂ֤יתָve.'a.Si.taH6213kindlyחֶ֙סֶד֙che.sedH2617with thy servantעַבְדֶּ֔ךָ'av.De.khaH5650;for thou hast broughtהֵבֵ֥אתָhe.Ve.taH935thy servantעַבְדְּךָ֖'av.de.KhaH5650into a covenantבִּבְרִ֣יתbiv.RitH1285of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068with thee: notwithstanding, if there beיֶשׁ־yesh-H3426in me iniquityעָוֹן֙'a.VonH5771,slayהֲמִיתֵ֣נִיha.mi.Te.niH4191me thyself; for why shouldest thou bringתְבִיאֵֽנִי׃ פte.vi.'E.niH935me to thy fatherאָבִ֖יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1?

9And Jonathanיְהוֹנָתָ֖ןye.ho.na.TanH3083saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Far be it from theeחָלִ֣ילָהcha.Li.lahH2486:for if I knewיָדֹ֣עַya.Do.a'H3045certainlyאֵדַ֗ע'e.Da'H3045that evilהָרָעָ֜הha.ra.'AhH7451were determinedכָלְתָ֨הkhal.TahH3615by my fatherאָבִי֙'a.ViH1to comeלָב֣וֹאla.Vo'H935upon thee, then would not I tellאַגִּ֥יד'a.GidH5046it thee?
