15But Davidוְדָוִ֛דve.da.VidH1732wentהֹלֵ֥ךְho.LekhH1980and returnedוָשָׁ֖בva.ShavH7725from Saulשָׁא֑וּלsha.'UlH7586to feedלִרְע֛וֹתlir.'otH7462his father’sאָבִ֖יו'a.VivH1sheepצֹ֥אןtzonH6629at Beth–lehemH1035.

16And the Philistineהַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖יha.pe.lish.TiH6430drew nearוַיִּגַּ֥שׁvai.yi.GashH5066morningהַשְׁכֵּ֣םhash.KemH7925and eveningוְהַעֲרֵ֑בve.ha.'a.RevH6150,and presentedוַיִּתְיַצֵּ֖בvai.yit.ya.TzevH3320himself fortyאַרְבָּעִ֥ים'ar.ba.'ImH705daysיֽוֹם׃ פYomH3117.

17And Jesseיִשַׁ֜יyi.ShaiH3448saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Davidלְדָוִ֣דle.da.VidH1732his sonבְּנ֗וֹbe.NoH1121,Takeקַח־kach-H3947now for thy brethrenלְאַחֶ֙יךָ֙le.'a.Chei.khaH251an ephahאֵיפַ֤ת'ei.FatH374of thisH2088parchedהַקָּלִיא֙ha.ka.Li'H7039corn,and these tenוַעֲשָׂרָ֥הva.'a.sa.RahH6235loavesלֶ֖חֶםLe.chemH3899,and runוְהָרֵ֥ץve.ha.RetzH7323to the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖הha.ma.cha.NehH4264to thy brethrenלְאַחֶֽיךָ׃le.'a.Chei.khaH251;

19Now Saulוְשָׁא֤וּלve.sha.'UlH7586,and they, and all the menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, werein the valleyבְּעֵ֖מֶקbe.'E.mekH6010of Elahהָֽאֵלָ֑הha.'e.LahH425,fightingנִלְחָמִ֖יםnil.cha.MimH3898with the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃pe.lish.TimH6430.

20And Davidדָּוִ֜דda.VidH1732rose up earlyוַיַּשְׁכֵּ֨םvai.yash.KemH7925in the morningבַּבֹּ֗קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242,and leftוַיִּטֹּ֤שׁvai.yi.ToshH5203the sheepהַצֹּאן֙ha.tzoNH6629with a keeperשֹׁמֵ֔רsho.MerH8104,and tookוַיִּשָּׂ֣אvai.yi.Sa'H5375,and wentH3212,as Jesseיִשָׁ֑יyi.ShaiH3448had commandedצִוָּ֖הוּtzi.Va.huH6680him; and he cameוַיָּבֹא֙vai.ya.Vo'H935to the trenchהַמַּעְגָּ֔לָהha.ma'.Ga.lahH4570,as the hostוְהַחַ֗יִלve.ha.Cha.yilH2428was going forthהַיֹּצֵא֙hai.yo.Tze'H3318to the fightהַמַּ֣עֲרָכָ֔הha.Ma.'a.ra.KhahH4634,and shoutedוְהֵרֵ֖עוּve.he.Re.'uH7321for the battleבַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ba.mil.cha.MahH4421.

21For Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478and the Philistinesוּפְלִשְׁתִּ֔יםu.fe.lish.TimH6430had put the battle in arrayוַתַּעֲרֹ֤ךְva.ta.'a.RokhH6186,armyמַעֲרָכָ֖הma.'a.ra.KhahH4634againstH7125armyמַעֲרָכָֽה׃ma.'a.ra.KhahH4634.

22And Davidדָּוִ֨דda.VidH1732leftוַיִּטֹּשׁ֩vai.yi.ToshH5203his carriageהַכֵּלִ֜יםha.ke.LimH3627in the handיַד֙yadH3027of the keeperשׁוֹמֵ֣רsho.MerH8104of the carriageהַכֵּלִ֔יםha.ke.LimH3627,and ranוַיָּ֖רָץvai.Ya.rotzH7323into the armyהַמַּעֲרָכָ֑הha.ma.'a.ra.KhahH4634,and cameוַיָּבֹ֕אvai.ya.Vo'H935and salutedוַיִּשְׁאַ֥ל לְשָׁלֽוֹם׃vai.yish.'Al le.sha.LomH7965 H7592his brethrenלְאֶחָ֖יוle.'e.ChavH251.

24And all the menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,when they sawבִּרְאוֹתָ֖םbir.'o.TamH7200the manהָאִ֑ישׁha.'IshH376,fledוַיָּנֻ֙סוּ֙vai.ya.Nu.suH5127from himמִפָּנָ֔יוmi.pa.NavH6440,and were soreמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966afraidוַיִּֽירְא֖וּvai.yi.re.'UH3372.

33And Saulשָׁא֜וּלsha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Davidדָּוִ֗דda.VidH1732,Thou art not ableתוּכַל֙tu.KhalH3201to goH3212against this Philistineהַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֣יha.pe.lish.TiH6430to fightלְהִלָּחֵ֖םle.hi.la.ChemH3898with him: for thou art buta youthנַ֣עַרNa.'arH5288,and he a manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of warמִלְחָמָ֖הmil.cha.MahH4421from his youthמִנְּעֻרָֽיו׃ סmi.ne.'u.RavH5271.

34And Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586,Thy servantעַבְדְּךָ֛'av.de.KhaH5650keptרֹעֶ֨הro.'EhH7462his father’sלְאָבִ֖יוle.'a.VivH1sheepבַּצֹּ֑אןba.TzonH6629,and there cameוּבָ֤אu.Va'H935a lionהָֽאֲרִי֙ha.'a.RiH738,and a bearהַדּ֔וֹבha.DovH1677,and tookוְנָשָׂ֥אve.na.Sa'H5375a lambשֶׂ֖הsehH2089 H7716out of the flockמֵהָעֵֽדֶר׃me.ha.'E.derH5739:

35And I went outוְיָצָ֧אתִיve.ya.Tza.tiH3318afterאַחֲרָ֛יו'a.cha.RavH310him, and smoteוְהִכִּתִ֖יוve.hi.ki.TivH5221him, and deliveredוְהִצַּ֣לְתִּיve.hi.Tzal.tiH5337itout of his mouthמִפִּ֑יוmi.PivH6310:and when he aroseוַיָּ֣קָםvai.Ya.komH6965against me, I caughtוְהֶחֱזַ֙קְתִּי֙ve.he.che.Zak.tiH2388himby his beardבִּזְקָנ֔וֹbiz.ka.NoH2206,and smoteוְהִכִּתִ֖יוve.hi.ki.TivH5221him, and slewוַהֲמִיתִּֽיו׃va.ha.mi.TivH4191him.

36Thy servantעַבְדֶּ֑ךָ'av.De.khaH5650slewהִכָּ֣הhi.KahH5221both the lionהָאֲרִ֛יha.'a.RiH738and the bearהַדּ֖וֹבha.DovH1677:and this uncircumcisedהֶעָרֵ֤לhe.'a.RelH6189Philistineהַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֨יha.pe.lish.TiH6430shall be as oneכְּאַחַ֣דke.'a.ChadH259of them, seeing he hath defiedחֵרֵ֔ףche.RefH2778the armiesמַעַרְכֹ֖תma.'ar.KhotH4634of the livingחַיִּֽים׃ סchai.YimH2416Godאֱלֹהִ֥ים'E.lo.HimH430.

37Davidדָּוִד֒da.VidH1732saidוַיֹּאמֶר֮vai.yo.MerH559moreover, The Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068that deliveredהִצִּלַ֜נִיhi.tzi.La.niH5337me out of the pawמִיַּ֤דmi.YadH3027of the lionהָֽאֲרִי֙ha.'a.RiH738,and out of the pawוּמִיַּ֣דu.mi.YadH3027of the bearהַדֹּ֔בha.DoH1677,he will deliverיַצִּילֵ֔נִיya.tzi.Le.niH5337me out of the handמִיַּ֥דmi.YadH3027of this Philistineהַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖יha.pe.lish.TiH6430.And Saulשָׁא֤וּלsha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732,GoH3212,and the Lordוַֽיהוָ֖הva.Yah.wehH3068be with thee.

38And Saulשָׁא֤וּלsha.'UlH7586armedוַיַּלְבֵּ֨שׁvai.yal.BeshH3847Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732with his armourמַדָּ֔יוma.DavH4055,and he putוְנָתַ֛ןve.na.TanH5414an helmetק֥וֹבַעKoa'H6959of brassנְחֹ֖שֶׁתne.Cho.shetH5178upon his headרֹאשׁ֑וֹro.ShoH7218;also he armedוַיַּלְבֵּ֥שׁvai.yal.BeshH3847him with a coat of mailשִׁרְיֽוֹן׃shir.YonH8302.

39And Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732girdedוַיַּחְגֹּ֣רvai.yach.GorH2296his swordחַ֠רְבּוֹchar.boH2719upon his armourלְמַדָּ֜יוle.ma.DavH4055,and he assayedוַיֹּ֣אֶלvai.Yo.'elH2974to goH3212;for he had not provedנִסָּה֒ni.SahH5254it.And Davidדָּוִ֜דda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Saulשָׁא֗וּלsha.'UlH7586,I cannotאוּכַ֛ל'u.KhalH3201goH3212with these; for I have not provedנִסִּ֑יתִיni.Si.tiH5254them.And Davidדָּוִ֖דda.VidH1732putוַיְסִרֵ֥םvay.si.RemH5493them off him.

40And he tookוַיִּקַּ֨חvai.yi.KachH3947his staffמַקְל֜וֹmak.LoH4731in his handבְּיָד֗וֹbe.ya.DoH3027,and choseוַיִּבְחַר־vai.yiv.char-H977him fiveחֲמִשָּׁ֣הcha.mi.ShahH2568smoothחַלֻּקֵֽי־cha.lu.kei-H2512stonesאֲבָנִ֣ים׀'a.va.NimH68out of the brookהַנַּ֡חַלha.Na.chalH5158,and putוַיָּ֣שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760them in a shepherd’sהָרֹעִ֧יםha.ro.'ImH7462bagבִּכְלִ֨יbikh.LiH3627which he had, even in a scripוּבַיַּלְק֖וּטu.vai.yal.KutH3219;and his slingוְקַלְּע֣וֹve.ka.le.'OH7050wasin his handבְיָד֑וֹve.ya.DoH3027:and he drew nearוַיִּגַּ֖שׁvai.yi.GashH5066to the Philistineהַפְּלִשְׁתִּֽי׃ha.pe.lish.TiH6430.

41And the Philistineהַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֔יha.pe.lish.TiH6430cameH3212onH1980and drew nearוְקָרֵ֖בve.ka.RevH7131unto Davidדָּוִ֑דda.VidH1732;and the manוְהָאִ֛ישׁve.ha.'IshH376that bareנֹשֵׂ֥אno.Se'H5375the shieldהַצִּנָּ֖הha.tzi.NahH6793wentbeforeלְפָנָֽיו׃le.fa.NavH6440him.

42And when the Philistineהַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֛יha.pe.lish.TiH6430looked aboutוַיַּבֵּ֧טvai.ya.BetH5027,and sawוַיִּרְאֶ֥הvai.yir.'EhH7200Davidדָּוִ֖דda.VidH1732,he disdainedוַיִּבְזֵ֑הוּvai.yiv.Ze.huH959him: for he was buta youthנַ֔עַרNa.'arH5288,and ruddyוְאַדְמֹנִ֖יve.'ad.mo.NiH132,and of a fairיְפֵ֥הye.PehH3303countenanceמַרְאֶֽה׃mar.'EhH4758.

43And the Philistineהַפְּלִשְׁתִּי֙ha.pe.lish.TiH6430saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732, AmI a dogהֲכֶ֣לֶבha.Khe.levH3611,that thou comestבָֽא־va'-H935to me with stavesבַּמַּקְל֑וֹתba.mak.LotH4731?And the Philistineהַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֛יha.pe.lish.TiH6430cursedוַיְקַלֵּ֧לvay.ka.LelH7043Davidדָּוִ֖דda.VidH1732by his godsבֵּאלֹהָֽיו׃be.lo.HavH430.
