Context of Luke 19:26
24Some other servants were standing near to their master. He said to them, “Take the money from this bad servant. Give it to the servant that has ten pounds.” 25“But, master,” they replied, “that servant has ten pounds already.” “Let me tell you this,” the king said. “Some people have received good things. They will all receive more. Some other people have nothing. Those people will lose even the little bit that they do have. 27Now I must punish these other people that did not want me to rule over them. Bring them here and kill them in front of me.” ’ 28When Jesus had said all this, he went on in front of them. He was going towards Jerusalem.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 26And from him that hath not - See this particularly explained Matthew 13:12; (note). Perhaps it would be well, with Bishop Pearce, to supply the word gained - give it to him who hath gained ten minas; for I say unto you, That unto every one who hath gained shall be given; and, from him who hath not gained, even that which he hath received, shall be taken away.Read the comment

Those that are called to Christ, he furnishes with gifts needful for their business; and from those to whom he gives power, he expects service.
