Revised Version 1895
Exodus 22:7-26
IfH518 a manH1167 shall deliverH7971 unto his neighbour money or stuff to keepH7126, and it be stolen outH7971 of the man’s houseH1004; ifH518 the thiefH1590 be foundH4672, he shall pay double.
IfH3588 the thief be notH2088 found, then the masterH559 of the house shall comeH935 nearH5921 unto GodH430, to seeH935 whether he have notH2088 putH935 his hand unto his neighbour’s goods.
For everyH3605 matter of trespass, whetherH176 it be for oxH7794, for ass, for sheepH7716, for raiment, or for anyH3605 manner of lost thingH3588, whereof one saith, This is it, the causeH5414 of bothH3605 partiesH376 shall come beforeH413 GodH5414; he whom GodH5414 shall condemn shall payH5414 double unto his neighbour.
IfH518 a manH1167 deliverH7971 unto his neighbour an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or anyH1961 beast, to keepH3947; and it die, or be hurt, or driven awayH7971, noH3808 manH1167 seeing it:
the oath of the LORD shall be betweenH5973 them both, whetherH518 he hath notH518 put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods; and the ownerH1167 thereof shall accept it, and he shall notH518 make restitutionH7999.
But ifH518 it be stolen from him, he shall make restitutionH7999 unto the owner thereof.
IfH3588 it be tornH7665 in piecesH7665, let him bringH4191 it for witness; he shall notH369 makeH3588 good that which was tornH7665.
And ifH518 a manH7916 borrow aught of his neighbour, and it be hurt, or die, the ownerH1167 thereof notH3808 being with it, he shall surelyH518 make restitutionH7999.
IfH3588 the owner thereof be with it, he shall notH3808 makeH3588 it good: ifH3588 it be an hired thingH3588, it cameH376 for itsH3588 hire.
And ifH518 a man entice a virginH1330 that is notH518 betrothed, and lie with herH5414, he shall surelyH518 payH5414 a dowryH4119 for herH5414 to be his wife.
If her father utterly refuseH3808 to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.
Thou shalt not suffer a sorceress to live.
Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
He that sacrificeth unto anyH1961 godH3808, save unto the LORD only, shall be utterly destroyed.
And a stranger shalt thou notH3808 wrong, neitherH3808 shalt thou oppressH6031 him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Ye shall notH518 afflictH6031 anyH3588 widow, or fatherless child.
IfH1961 thou afflict them in anyH1961 wise, and they cry at all unto meH1961, I will surelyH1961 hear their cry;
and my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill youH518 with the sword; and your wives shall be widowsH5971, and your children fatherless.
IfH518 thou lend money to any of my peopleH518 with thee that is poor, thou shalt notH518 be to him as a creditor; neitherH518 shall ye lay uponH935 him usury.
IfH3588 thou at allH7901 takeH1961 thy neighbour’s garmentH8071 to pledge, thou shalt restore it unto him by that the sun goeth downH7901:
