2 Kings 22:8-20
8And HilkiahH2518 the highH1419 priestH3548 saidH559 unto ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608, I have foundH4672 the bookH5612 of the lawH8451 in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068. And HilkiahH2518 deliveredH5414 the bookH5612 to ShaphanH8227, and he readH7121 it. 9And ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608 cameH935 to the kingH4428, and broughtH935 the kingH4428 wordH1697 againH7725, and saidH559, Thy servantsH5650 have emptiedH5413 outH5921 the moneyH3701 that was foundH4672 in the houseH1004, and have deliveredH5414 it intoH413 the handH3027 of the workmenH4399 that have the oversightH6485 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068. 10And ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608 toldH5046 the kingH4428, sayingH559, HilkiahH2518 the priestH3548 hath deliveredH5414 meH5414 a bookH5612. And ShaphanH8227 readH7121 it beforeH6440 the kingH4428. 11And it cameH1961 to passH1961, when the kingH4428 had heardH8085 the wordsH1697 of the bookH5612 of the lawH8451, that he rent his clothesH899. 12And the kingH4428 commandedH6680 HilkiahH2518 the priestH3548, and AhikamH296 the sonH1121 of ShaphanH8227, and AchborH5907 the sonH1121 of MicaiahH4320, and ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608, and AsaiahH6222 the king’sH4428 servantH5650, sayingH559, 13Go ye, inquireH1875 of the LORDH3068 for meH5921, and for the peopleH5971, and for allH3605 JudahH3063, concerning the wordsH1697 of this bookH5612 that is foundH4672: for greatH1419 is the wrathH2534 of the LORDH3068 that is kindledH3341 againstH5921 usH5921, becauseH3588 our fathersH1 have notH3808 hearkened unto the wordsH1697 of this bookH5612, to doH6213 accordingH5921 unto allH3605 that whichH834 is writtenH3789 concerning usH5921. 14SoH1696 HilkiahH2518 the priestH3548, and AhikamH296, and AchborH5907, and ShaphanH8227, and AsaiahH6222, wentH413 unto HuldahH2468 the prophetessH5031, the wifeH802 of ShallumH7967 the sonH1121 of TikvahH8616, the sonH1121 of HarhasH2745, keeperH8104 of the wardrobe; (nowH1696 sheH1931 dweltH3427 in JerusalemH3389 in the secondH4932 quarter;) and they communed with herH413. 15And sheH834 saidH559 unto them, ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: TellH559 ye the manH376 that sentH7971 youH834 unto meH413, 16ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, BeholdH2005, I will bringH935 evilH7451 uponH5921 this placeH4725, and uponH5921 the inhabitantsH3427 thereof, evenH853 allH3605 the wordsH1697 of the bookH5612 whichH834 the kingH4428 of JudahH3063 hath readH7121: 17BecauseH834 they have forsaken meH3707, and have burnedH6999 incenseH6999 unto otherH312 godsH430, that they might provokeH3707 meH3707 to angerH3707 with allH3605 the workH4639 of their handsH3027; therefore my wrathH2534 shall be kindledH3341 againstH3027 this placeH4725, and it shall notH3808 be quenchedH3518. 18But unto the kingH4428 of JudahH3063, who sentH7971 youH834 to inquireH1875 of the LORDH3068, thusH3541 shall ye sayH559 to him, ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: As touching the wordsH1697 whichH834 thou hast heardH8085, 19becauseH5921 thine heartH3824 was tenderH7401, and thou didst humbleH3665 thyself beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, when thou heardest whatH834 I spake againstH5921 this placeH4725, and againstH5921 the inhabitantsH3427 thereof, that they should becomeH1961 a desolationH8047 and a curseH7045, and hast rent thy clothesH899, and weptH1058 beforeH6440 meH6440; I also have heardH8085 thee, saith the LORDH3068. 20Therefore, beholdH2005, I will gatherH622 thee to thy fathersH1, and thou shalt be gatheredH622 to thy graveH6913 in peaceH7965, neitherH3808 shall thine eyesH5869 seeH7200 allH3605 the evilH7451 whichH834 I will bringH935 uponH5921 this placeH4725. And they broughtH935 the kingH4428 wordH1697 againH7725.
