Kings 22:3-13
And it cameH1961 to passH1961 in the eighteenthH6240 yearH8141 of kingH4428 JosiahH2977, that the kingH4428 sentH7971 ShaphanH8227 the sonH1121 of AzaliahH683, the sonH1121 of MeshullamH4918, the scribeH5608, to the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, sayingH559,
GoH935 upH5927 to HilkiahH2518 the highH1419 priestH3548, that he may sum the moneyH3701 whichH834 is broughtH935 intoH413 the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, whichH834 the keepersH8104 of the door have gatheredH622 of the peopleH5971:
and letH5414 them deliverH5414 it intoH5921 the handH3027 of the workmenH4399 that have the oversightH6485 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068: and letH5414 them giveH5414 it to the workmenH4399 whichH834 are in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, to repairH2388 the breaches of the houseH1004;
unto the carpentersH2796, and to the buildersH1129, and to the masonsH1443; and for buyingH7069 timberH6086 and hewnH4274 stoneH68 to repairH2388 the houseH1004.
Howbeit there was noH3808 reckoning madeH6213 with them of the moneyH3701 that was deliveredH5414 intoH5921 their handH3027; for they dealt faithfullyH530.
And HilkiahH2518 the highH1419 priestH3548 saidH559 unto ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608, I have foundH4672 the bookH5612 of the lawH8451 in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068. And HilkiahH2518 deliveredH5414 the bookH5612 to ShaphanH8227, and he readH7121 it.
And ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608 cameH935 to the kingH4428, and broughtH935 the kingH4428 wordH1697 againH7725, and saidH559, Thy servantsH5650 have emptiedH5413 outH5921 the moneyH3701 that was foundH4672 in the houseH1004, and have deliveredH5414 it intoH413 the handH3027 of the workmenH4399 that have the oversightH6485 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068.
And ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608 toldH5046 the kingH4428, sayingH559, HilkiahH2518 the priestH3548 hath deliveredH5414 meH5414 a bookH5612. And ShaphanH8227 readH7121 it beforeH6440 the kingH4428.
And it cameH1961 to passH1961, when the kingH4428 had heardH8085 the wordsH1697 of the bookH5612 of the lawH8451, that he rent his clothesH899.
And the kingH4428 commandedH6680 HilkiahH2518 the priestH3548, and AhikamH296 the sonH1121 of ShaphanH8227, and AchborH5907 the sonH1121 of MicaiahH4320, and ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608, and AsaiahH6222 the king’sH4428 servantH5650, sayingH559,
Go ye, inquireH1875 of the LORDH3068 for meH5921, and for the peopleH5971, and for allH3605 JudahH3063, concerning the wordsH1697 of this bookH5612 that is foundH4672: for greatH1419 is the wrathH2534 of the LORDH3068 that is kindledH3341 againstH5921 usH5921, becauseH3588 our fathersH1 have notH3808 hearkened unto the wordsH1697 of this bookH5612, to doH6213 accordingH5921 unto allH3605 that whichH834 is writtenH3789 concerning usH5921.
