Revised Version 1895
Kings 18:23-32
NowH6258 therefore, I prayH4994 thee, giveH5414 pledges to my masterH113 the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, and I will giveH5414 thee two thousandH505 horsesH5483, ifH518 thou be ableH3201 on thy partH5921 to setH5414 ridersH7392 uponH5921 them.
HowH349 then canst thou turnH7725 awayH7725 the faceH6440 of one captain of the least of my master’sH113 servantsH5650, and putH7725 thy trustH982 on EgyptH4714 for chariotsH7393 and for horsemenH6571?
Am I nowH6258 comeH5927 upH5927 withoutH1107 the LORDH3068 againstH5921 this placeH4725 to destroyH7843 it? The LORDH3068 saidH559 unto meH413, GoH5927 upH5927 againstH5921 this landH776, and destroyH7843 it.
Then saidH559 EliakimH471 the sonH1121 of HilkiahH2518, and ShebnahH7644, and JoahH3098, unto RabshakehH7262, SpeakH1696, I prayH4994 thee, to thy servantsH5650 in the Syrian languageH3066; for weH587 understandH8085 it: and speakH1696 notH408 with usH4994 in the Jews’ languageH3066, in the earsH241 of the peopleH5971 that are on the wallH2346.
But RabshakehH7262 saidH559 unto them, Hath my masterH113 sentH7971 meH413 to thy masterH113, and to thee, to speakH1696 theseH428 wordsH1697? hath he notH3808 sentH7971 meH413 to the menH376 whichH428 sitH3427 on the wallH2346, to eatH398 their ownH376 dung, and to drinkH8354 their ownH376 water with youH7971?
Then RabshakehH7262 stoodH5975, and criedH7121 with a loudH1419 voiceH6963 in the Jews’ languageH3066, and spake, sayingH559, HearH8085 ye the wordH1697 of the greatH1419 kingH4428, the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804.
ThusH3541 saith the kingH4428, LetH408 notH3808 HezekiahH2396 deceiveH5377 youH3588; for he shall notH3808 be ableH3201 to deliverH5337 youH3588 outH3027 of his handH3027:
neitherH3808 letH5414 HezekiahH2396 makeH5414 youH5414 trustH982 in the LORDH3068, sayingH559, The LORDH3068 will surelyH5337 deliverH5337 usH5414, and this cityH5892 shall notH3808 be givenH5414 intoH413 the handH3027 of the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804.
Hearken notH408 to HezekiahH2396: for thusH3541 saith the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, MakeH6213 your peaceH1293 with meH413, and comeH3318 outH3318 to meH413; and eatH398 ye everyH376 one of his vineH1612, and everyH376 one of his figH8384 treeH8384, and drinkH8354 ye everyH376 one the watersH4325 of his ownH376 cisternH953;
UntilH5704 I comeH935 and takeH3947 youH3588 awayH3947 to a landH776 like your own landH776, a landH776 of corn and wineH8492, a landH776 of breadH3899 and vineyardsH3754, a landH776 of oilH3323 oliveH2132 and of honeyH1706, that ye may liveH2421, and notH3808 dieH4191: and hearken notH3808 unto HezekiahH2396, when he persuadeth youH3588, sayingH559, The LORDH3068 will deliverH5337 usH413.
