Revised Version 1895
2 Kings 14:1-6
1In the secondH8147 yearH8141 of JoashH3101 sonH1121 of JoahazH3099 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 began AmaziahH558 the sonH1121 of JoashH3101 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 to reignH4427.
2He was twentyH6242 and fiveH2568 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he beganH1961 to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 twentyH6242 and nineH8672 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389: and his mother’sH517 nameH8034 was JehoaddinH3086 of JerusalemH3389.
3And he didH6213 that whichH834 was rightH3477 in the eyesH5869 of the LORDH3068, yet notH3808 like DavidH1732 his fatherH1: he didH6213 according to allH3605 that JoashH3101 his fatherH1 had doneH6213.
4Howbeit the highH1116 placesH1116 were notH3808 takenH5493 awayH5493: the peopleH5971 stillH5750 sacrificedH2076 and burntH6999 incenseH6999 in the highH1116 placesH1116.
5And it cameH1961 to passH1961, as soon as the kingdomH4467 was establishedH2388 in his handH3027, that he slewH5221 his servantsH5650 whichH834 had slainH5221 the kingH4428 his fatherH1:
6but the childrenH1121 of the murderers he putH4191 notH3808 to deathH4191: accordingH5921 to that whichH834 is writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the lawH8451 of MosesH4872, as the LORDH3068 commandedH6680, sayingH559, The fathersH1 shall notH3808 be putH4191 to deathH4191 for the childrenH1121, norH3808 the childrenH1121 be putH4191 to deathH4191 for the fathersH1; but everyH376 manH376 shall dieH4191 for his ownH376 sinH2399.
