Kings 1:1-10
NowH3117 kingH4428 DavidH1732 was oldH2204 and stricken in yearsH3117; and they coveredH3680 him with clothesH899, but he gat noH3808 heat.
Wherefore his servantsH5650 saidH559 unto him, LetH1961 there be soughtH1245 for my lordH113 the kingH4428 a youngH5291 virginH1330: and letH1961 herH1961 standH5975 beforeH6440 the kingH4428, and cherishH2436 him; and letH1961 herH1961 lieH7901 in thy bosomH2436, that my lordH113 the kingH4428 may get heatH2552.
SoH935 they soughtH1245 for a fairH3303 damsel throughoutH3605 allH3605 the coasts of IsraelH3478, and foundH4672 AbishagH49 the ShunammiteH7767, and broughtH935 herH3605 to the kingH4428.
And the damsel was veryH3966 fairH3303; and sheH3808 cherished the kingH4428, and ministeredH8334 to him; but the kingH4428 knewH3045 herH1961 notH3808.
Then AdonijahH138 the sonH1121 of HaggithH2294 exalted himselfH6440, sayingH559, I will be kingH4427: and he preparedH6213 him chariotsH7393 and horsemenH6571, and fiftyH2572 menH376 to runH7323 beforeH6440 him.
And his fatherH1 had notH3808 displeased him at anyH1571 time in sayingH559, WhyH4069 hast thou doneH6213 soH6213? and he was also a veryH3966 goodly man; and he was bornH3205 afterH310 AbsalomH53.
And he conferredH1697 with JoabH3097 the sonH1121 of ZeruiahH6870, and with AbiatharH54 the priestH3548: and they followingH310 AdonijahH138 helpedH5826 him.
But ZadokH6659 the priestH3548, and BenaiahH1141 the sonH1121 of JehoiadaH3077, and NathanH5416 the prophetH5030, and ShimeiH8096, and ReiH7472, and the mightyH1368 menH1368 whichH834 belongedH1961 to DavidH1732, were notH3808 with AdonijahH138.
And AdonijahH138 slew sheepH6629 and oxenH1241 and fatlingsH4806 by the stoneH68 of ZohelethH2120, whichH834 is besideH681 En-rogelH5883; and he calledH7121 allH3605 his brethrenH251 the king’sH4428 sonsH1121, and allH3605 the menH376 of JudahH3063 the king’sH4428 servantsH5650:
but NathanH5416 the prophetH5030, and BenaiahH1141, and the mightyH1368 menH1368, and SolomonH8010 his brotherH251, he calledH7121 notH3808.
