Ezra 8:21-31

21Then I proclaimedH7121 1a fastH6685 thereH8033 at 2the riverH5104 of AhavaH163, to 3humbleH6031 ourselves beforeH6440 our GodH430, to seekH1245 from Him a 4safeH3477 journeyH1870 for us, our littleH2945 onesH2945, and allH3605 our possessionsH7399. 22For I wasH954 ashamedH954 to requestH7592 from the kingH4428 troopsH2428 and horsemenH6571 to 5protectH5826 us from the enemyH340 on the wayH1870, becauseH3588 we had saidH559 to the kingH4428, “6The handH3027 of our GodH430 is 7favorablyH2899 disposedH2899 to allH3605 who seekH1245 Him, but 8His powerH5797 and His angerH639 are againstH5921 allH3605 those who 9abandonH5800 Him.” 23So we fastedH6684 and soughtH1245 our GodH430 concerningH5921 thisH2088 matter, and He 1011listenedH6279 toH6279 our pleadingH6279.

24Then I selectedH914 twelveH8147H6240 of the leadingH8269 priestsH3548: 12SherebiahH8274, HashabiahH2811, and with them tenH6235 of their brothersH251; 25and I 13weighedH8254 outH8254 to them 14the silverH3701, the goldH2091, and the utensilsH3627, the offeringH8641 for the houseH1004 of our GodH430 which the kingH4428, 15his counselorsH3289, his officialsH8269, and allH3605 IsraelH3478 who wereH4672 presentH4672 there had contributedH7311. 2616So I weighedH8254 into their handsH3027 17650H8337H3967H2572 talentsH3603 of silverH3701, and silverH3701 utensilsH3627 worth 18a hundredH3967 talentsH3603, and a hundredH3967 goldH2091 talentsH3603, 27and twentyH6242 goldH2091 bowlsH3713 worth a thousandH505 19daricsH150, and twoH8147 utensilsH3627 of fineH2896 shinyH6668 bronzeH5178, preciousH2536 as goldH2091. 28Then I saidH559 to them, “20You are holyH6944 to the LordH3068, and the 21utensilsH3627 are holyH6944; and the silverH3701 and the goldH2091 are a 22voluntaryH5071 offeringH5071 to the LordH3068 GodH430 of your fathersH1. 29WatchH8245 and keepH8104 them 23untilH5704 you weighH8254 them beforeH6440 the leadingH8269 priestsH3548, the LevitesH3881, and the leadersH8269 of the fathers’H1 households of IsraelH3478 in JerusalemH3389, in the chambersH3957 of the houseH1004 of the LordH3068.” 30So the priestsH3548 and the LevitesH3881 24acceptedH6901 the weightH4948 of silverH3701 and goldH2091 and the utensilsH3627, to bringH935 them to JerusalemH3389 to the houseH1004 of our GodH430.

31Then we journeyedH5265 from 25the riverH5104 AhavaH163 on 26the twelfthH8147H6240 of the firstH7223 monthH2320 to goH1980 to JerusalemH3389; and 27the handH3027 of our GodH430 was upon us, and He rescuedH5337 us from the handH3709 of the enemyH340 and the ambushesH693 by the roadH1870.
