Esther 9:20-30
20Then MordecaiH4782 recordedH3789 theseH428 eventsH1697, and he sentH7971 lettersH5612 to allH3605 the JewsH3064 whoH834 were in allH3605 the provincesH4082 of KingH4428 AhasuerusH325, both nearH7138 and farH7350, 21obligingH6965H5921 them to celebrateH6213 the fourteenthH702H6240 dayH3117 of the monthH2320 AdarH143, and the fifteenthH2568H6240 dayH3117 1of the same month, annuallyH3605H8141, 22because on those daysH3117 the JewsH3064 2ridH5117 themselvesH5117 of their enemiesH340, and it was a monthH2320 whichH834 was 3turnedH2015 for them from griefH3015 into joyH8057, and from mourningH60 into a 4holidayH2896H3117; that they were to makeH6213 them daysH3117 of feastingH4960 and rejoicingH8057, and 5sendingH4916 portionsH4490 of food to oneH376 anotherH7453, and giftsH4979 to the poorH34.
23So the JewsH3064 undertookH6901 whatH834 they had startedH2490 to doH6213, and whatH834 MordecaiH4782 had writtenH3789 to them. 24For HamanH2001 the sonH1121 of HammedathaH1992, the AgagiteH91, the adversaryH6887 of allH3605 the JewsH3064, had schemedH2803 againstH5921 the JewsH3064 to eliminateH6 them, and 6had castH5307 PurH6332, that is the lotH1486, to disturbH2000 them and eliminateH6 them. 25But 7when it cameH935 8to the king’sH4428 attentionH6440, he commandedH559 by letterH5612 9that his wickedH7451 schemeH4284 whichH834 he had devisedH2803 againstH5921 the JewsH3064 10was to returnH7725 on his own headH7218, and that he and his sonsH1121 were to be hangedH8518 on the woodenH6086 gallows. 26ThereforeH5921H3651 they calledH7121 theseH428 daysH3117 PurimH6332 afterH5921 the nameH8034 of 11PurH6332. 12And 13becauseH5921 of the instructionsH1697 in thisH2088 letterH107, both whatH4100 they had seenH7200 in thisH3602 regardH3602 and whatH4100 had happenedH5060 to them, 27the JewsH3064 establishedH6965 and 14madeH6901 aH6901 customH6901 for themselves, their 15descendantsH2233, and for 16allH3605 those who alliedH3867 themselves with them, so that 17they would not failH5674 18to celebrateH6213 theseH428 twoH8147 daysH3117 according to their 19regulationH3791 and according to their appointedH2163 timeH2165 annuallyH3605H8141. 28So theseH428 daysH3117 were to be rememberedH2142 and celebratedH6213 throughout everyH1755 generationH1755, everyH4940 familyH4940, everyH4082 provinceH4082, and everyH5892 cityH5892; and theseH428 daysH3117 of PurimH6332 were not to 20be neglectedH5674 by the JewsH3064, or their memoryH2143 21fadeH5486 from their 22descendantsH2233.
29Then QueenH4436 EstherH635, 23daughterH1323 of AbihailH32, with MordecaiH4782 the JewH3064, wroteH3789 with fullH3605 authorityH8633 to confirmH6965 24thisH2088 secondH8145 letterH107 about PurimH6332. 30He sentH7971 lettersH5612 to allH3605 the JewsH3064, 25to the 127H7651H6242H3967 provincesH4082 of the kingdomH4438 of AhasuerusH325, namely, wordsH1697 of peaceH7965 and truthH571,
