Romans 2:9-29
9There will be 1tribulation and distress 2for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew 3first and also of the Greek, 10but 4glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew 5first and also to the Greek. 11For 6there is no partiality with God.
12For all who have sinned 78without the Law will also perish 9without the Law, and all who have sinned 10under the Law will be judged 11by the Law; 13for it is 12not the hearers 13of the Law who are 14just before God, but the doers 15of the Law will be justified. 14For when Gentiles who do not have 16the Law do 1718instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having 19the Law, are a law to themselves, 15in that they show 20the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, 16on the day when, 21according to my gospel, 22God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.
17But if you bear the name “Jew” and 23rely 24upon the Law and boast in God, 18and know His will and 2526approve the things that are essential, being instructed out of the Law, 19and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, 20a 27corrector of the foolish, a teacher of 28the immature, having in the Law 29the embodiment of knowledge and of the truth, 21you, therefore, 30who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who 31preach that one shall not steal, do you steal? 22You who say that one should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you 32rob temples? 23You who 33boast 34in the Law, through your breaking the Law, do you dishonor God? 24For “35the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles 36because of you,” just as it is written.
25For indeed circumcision is of value if you 37practice 38the Law; but if you are a transgressor 39of the Law, 40your circumcision has become uncircumcision. 2641So if 42the 43uncircumcised man 44keeps the requirements of the Law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision? 27And 45he who is physically uncircumcised, if he keeps the Law, will he not 46judge you who 47though having the letter of the Law and circumcision are a transgressor 48of the Law? 28For 49he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh. 29But 50he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and 51circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the 52Spirit, not by the letter; 53and his praise is not from men, but from God.
