19Then the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toIttaiאִתַּ֣י'i.TaiH863the Gittiteהַגִּתִּ֔יha.gi.TiH1663, “Whyלָ֧מָּהLa.mahH4100will you alsoגַּם־gam-H1571goתֵלֵ֛ךְte.LekhH1980with us? Returnשׁ֣וּבshuvH7725and remainוְשֵׁ֤בve.ShevH3427with the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428,for you are a foreignerנָכְרִ֣יna.khe.RiH5237and alsoוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571an exileגֹּלֶ֥הgo.LehH1540; returnto your own placeלִמְקוֹמֶֽךָ׃lim.ko.Me.chaH4725.

20You cameבּוֹאֶ֗ךָbo.'E.khaH935onlyyesterdayתְּמ֣וֹל׀te.MolH8543,and shall I todayוְהַיּ֞וֹםve.hai.YomH3117make you wanderאֲנִֽיעֲךָ֤'a.no.'a.khaH5128with us, whileI goH1980whereעַ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־'al 'a.Sher-H5921 H834I will? Returnשׁ֣וּבshuvH7725and takeH7725backוְהָשֵׁ֧בve.ha.ShevH7725your brothersאַחֶ֛יךָ'a.Chei.khaH251;mercyחֶ֥סֶדChe.sedH2617andtruthוֶאֱמֶֽת׃ve.'e.MetH571be with you.”

21But Ittaiאִתַּ֛י'i.TaiH863answeredוַיַּ֧עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559, “As the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068livesH2416,and as my lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428livesH2416,surelyכִּ֠י אִם־ki 'im-H3588 H518whereverבִּמְק֞וֹם אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָּׁ֣ם׀bim.Kom 'a.Sher shamH4725 H834 H8033my lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113the kingהַמֶּ֗לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428may be, whetherאִם־'im-H518for deathלְמָ֙וֶת֙le.Ma.vetH4194orאִם־'im-H518for lifeH2425,thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033alsoכִּי־ki-H3588your servantעַבְדֶּֽךָ׃'av.De.khaH5650will be.”

22Therefore Davidדָּוִ֛דda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֧אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Ittaiאִתַּ֖י'i.TaiH863, “Goלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980and passH5674overH5674.”So Ittaiאִתַּ֤י'i.TaiH863the Gittiteהַגִּתִּי֙ha.gi.TiH1663passedH5674overH5674with allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605his menH376and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the littleהַטַּ֖ףha.TafH2945onesH2945whoאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834were with him.
