John 6:57-63

57As the 1living Father 2sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. 58This is the bread which 3came down out of heaven; not as 4the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread 5will live forever.” 59These things He said 6in the synagogue as He taught 7in Capernaum.

60Therefore many of His 8disciples, when they heard this said, “9This is a difficult statement; who can listen to it?” 61But Jesus, 10conscious that His disciples grumbled at this, said to them, “Does this 11cause you to stumble? 62What then if you see 12the Son of Man 13ascending to where He was before? 63 14It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; 15the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.
