John 11:45-48

45 1Therefore many of the Jews 2who came to Mary, and 3saw what He had done, believed in Him. 46But some of them went to the 4Pharisees and told them the things which Jesus had done.

47Therefore 5the chief priests and the Pharisees 6convened a 7council, and were saying, “What are we doing? For this man is performing many 8 9signs. 48If we let Him go on like this, all men will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our 10place and our nation.”
