Isaiah 9:17-20
17Therefore the Lord does 1not take pleasure in their young men, 2Nor does He have pity on their 3orphans or their widows; For every one of them is 4godless and an 5evildoer, And every 6mouth is speaking foolishness. 7In spite of all this, His anger does not turn away And His hand is still stretched out.
188For wickedness burns like a fire; It consumes briars and thorns; It even sets the thickets of the forest aflame And they roll upward in a column of smoke.19By the 9fury of the Lord of hosts the 10land is burned up, And the 11people are like fuel for the fire; No 12man spares his brother.2013They slice off what is on the right hand but still are 14hungry, And 15they eat what is on the left hand but they are not satisfied; Each of them eats the 16flesh of his own arm.
