Isaiah 38:9-14

9A writing of Hezekiah king of Judah after his illness and 1recovery:10I said, “2In the middle of my 3life I am to enter the 4gates of Sheol; I am to be 5deprived of the rest of my years.”11I said, “I will not see the Lord, The Lord 6in the land of the living; I will look on man no more among the inhabitants of the world.12Like a shepherd’s 7tent my dwelling is pulled up and removed from me; As a 8weaver I 9rolled up my life. He 10cuts me off from the loom; From 11day until night You make an end of me.13I composed my soul until morning. 12Like a lion--so He 13breaks all my bones, From 14day until night You make an end of me.1415Like a swallow, like a crane, so I twitter; I 16moan like a dove; My 17eyes look wistfully to the heights; O Lord, I am oppressed, be my 18security.
