Exodus 15:22-25
221Then Moses 2led Israel from the 3Red Sea, and they went out into 4the wilderness of 5Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness and found no water. 23When they came to 6Marah, they could not drink the waters 7of Marah, for they were 8bitter; therefore it was named 9Marah. 24So the people 10grumbled at Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” 25Then he 11cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him 12a tree; and he threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet.
There He 13made for them a statute and regulation, and there He 14tested them.
