Acts 4:25-37
25who 1by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said, ‘2Why did the 3Gentiles rage, And the peoples devise futile things?264The kings of the earth 5took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the Lord and against His 67Christ.’ 27For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy 89servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both 10Herod and 11Pontius Pilate, along with 12the 13Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, 28to do whatever Your hand and 14Your purpose predestined to occur. 29And 15now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may 16speak Your word with all 17confidence, 30while You extend Your hand to heal, and 1819signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy 2021servant Jesus.” 31And when they had prayed, the 22place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all 23filled with the Holy Spirit and began to 24speak the word of God with 25boldness.
32And the 26congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them 27claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but 28all things were common property to them. 33And 29with great power the apostles were giving 30testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all. 34For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses 31would sell them and bring the 32proceeds of the sales 35and 33lay them at the apostles’ feet, and they would be 34distributed to each as any had need.
36Now Joseph, a Levite of 35Cyprian birth, who was also called 36Barnabas by the apostles (which translated means Son of 3738Encouragement), 37and who owned a tract of land, sold it and brought the money and 39laid it at the apostles’ feet.
