Acts 2:29-37
29“1Brethren, I may confidently say to you regarding the 2patriarch David that he both 3died and 4was buried, and 5his tomb is 6with us to this day. 30And so, because he was 7a prophet and knew that 8God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one 9of his descendants on his throne, 31he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of 10the Christ, that 11He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh 12suffer decay. 32This Jesus 13God raised up again, to which we are all 14witnesses. 33Therefore having been exalted 1516to the right hand of God, and 17having received from the Father 18the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has 19poured forth this which you both see and hear. 34For it was not David who ascended into 20heaven, but he himself says: ‘21The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand,35Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”’ 36Therefore let all the 22house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both 23Lord and 24Christ--this Jesus 25whom you crucified.”
37Now when they heard this, they were 26pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “27Brethren, 2829what shall we do?”
