2 Timothy 2:13-19
13If we are faithless, 1He remains faithful, for 2He cannot deny Himself.
14Remind them of these things, and solemnly 3charge them in the presence of God not to 4wrangle about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers. 15Be diligent to 5present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling 6the word of truth. 16But 7avoid 8worldly and empty chatter, for 9it will lead to further ungodliness, 17and their 10talk will spread like 11gangrene. Among them are 12Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18men who have gone astray from the truth saying that 13the resurrection has already taken place, and they upset 14the faith of some. 19Nevertheless, the 15firm foundation of God stands, having this 16seal, “17The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “18Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness.”
