2 Timothy 4

“Preach the Word”

11I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to 2judge the living and the dead, and by His 3appearing and His kingdom: 2preach 4the word; be ready in season and out of season; 5reprove, rebuke, exhort, with 6great 7patience and instruction. 3For 8the time will come when they will not endure 9sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4and 10will turn away their ears from the truth and 11will turn aside to myths. 5But you, 12be sober in all things, 13endure hardship, do the work of an 14evangelist, fulfill your 15ministry.

6For I am already being 16poured out as a drink offering, and the time of 17my departure has come. 718I have fought the good fight, I have finished 19the course, I have kept 20the faith; 8in the future there 21is laid up for me 22the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on 23that day; and not only to me, but also to 24all who have loved His 25appearing.

Personal Concerns

926Make every effort to come to me soon; 10for 27Demas, having loved 28this present 29world, has deserted me and gone to 30Thessalonica; Crescens has gone to 3132Galatia, 33Titus to Dalmatia. 1134Only 35Luke is with me. Pick up 36Mark and bring him with you, 37for he is useful to me for service. 12But 38Tychicus I have sent to 39Ephesus. 13When you come bring the cloak which I left at 40Troas with Carpus, and the books, especially the parchments. 1441Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm; 42the Lord will repay him according to his deeds. 15Be on guard against him yourself, for he vigorously opposed our 43teaching.

16At my first defense no one supported me, but all deserted me; 44may it not be counted against them. 17But the Lord stood with me and 45strengthened me, so that through me 46the proclamation might 47be 48fully accomplished, and that all 49the Gentiles might hear; and I was 50rescued out of 51the lion’s mouth. 18The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will 5253bring me safely to His 54heavenly kingdom; 55to 56Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

19Greet Prisca and 57Aquila, and 58the household of Onesiphorus. 2059Erastus remained at 60Corinth, but 61Trophimus I left sick at 62Miletus. 2163Make every effort to come before 64winter. Eubulus greets you, also Pudens and Linus and Claudia and all the brethren.

2265The Lord be with your spirit. 66Grace be with you.
