19The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Prisca greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. 20All the brethren greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. The greeting is in my own hand--Paul. 22If anyone does not love the Lord, he is to be accursed. Maranatha. 23The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 21The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand - This should be rendered: "The salutation is written by the hand of me Paul;" , is written, being understood. It is very likely that the apostle wrote this and the following verses with his own hand. The rest, though dictated by him, was written by an amanuensis.Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 21The salutation of me, Paul, with mine own hand - It is evident that Paul was accustomed to employ an amanuensis (copyist) in penning his epistles (see the note on Romans 16:22), though he signed his own name, and expressed his Christian salutation in every epistle, 2 Thessalonians 3:17; compare Colossians 4:18. This gave a sanction to what was written; was a proof that it was his own, and was a valuable token of affectionate regard. It was a proof that…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 19-24Verses 19-24 Christianity by no means destroys civility. Religion should promote a courteous and obliging temper towards all. Those give a false idea of religion, and reproach it, who would take encouragement from it to be sour and morose. And Christian salutations are not mere empty compliments; but are real expressions of good-will to others, and commend them to the Divine grace and blessing. Every Christian family should be as a Christian church…Read the comment

Paul did this in this letter and in others (see Romans 16:22; Galatians 6:11; Colossians 4:18; 2 Thessalonians 3:17).Read the comment
