2 Corinthians 11:16-33

161Again I say, let no one think me foolish; but if you do, receive me even as foolish, so that I also may boast a little. 17What I am saying, I am not saying 23as the Lord would, but as 4in foolishness, in this confidence of boasting. 18Since 5many boast 6according to the flesh, I will boast also. 19For you, 7being so wise, tolerate the foolish gladly. 20For you tolerate it if anyone 8enslaves you, anyone 9devours you, anyone 10takes advantage of you, anyone 11exalts himself, anyone 12hits you in the face. 21To my 13shame I must say that we have been 14weak by comparison.

But in whatever respect anyone else 15is bold--I 16speak in foolishness--I am just as bold myself. 22Are they 17Hebrews? 18So am I. Are they 19Israelites? 20So am I. Are they 2122descendants of Abraham? 23So am I. 23Are they 24servants of Christ?--I speak as if insane--I more so; in 2526far more labors, in 2728far more imprisonments, 2930beaten times without number, often in 31danger of death. 24Five times I received from the Jews 32thirty-nine lashes. 25Three times I was 33beaten with rods, once I was 34stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent in the deep. 26I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my 35countrymen, dangers from the 36Gentiles, dangers in the 37city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers on the sea, dangers among 38false brethren; 27I have been in 39labor and hardship, 40through many sleepless nights, in 41hunger and thirst, often 42without food, in cold and 4344exposure. 28Apart from such 45external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for 46all the churches. 29Who is 47weak without my being weak? Who is 48led into sin 49without my intense concern?

30If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my 50weakness. 31The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, 51He who is blessed forever, 52knows that I am not lying. 32In 53Damascus the ethnarch under Aretas the king was 54guarding the city of the Damascenes in order to seize me, 33and I was let down in a basket 55through a window 56in the wall, and so escaped his hands.
