1 Peter 2:5-9
51you also, as living stones, 2are being built up as a 3spiritual house for a holy 4priesthood, to 5offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6For this is contained in 6Scripture: “7Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a 8precious corner stone, And he who believes in 9Him will not be 10disappointed.” 711This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, “12The stone which the builders 13rejected, This became the very corner stone,” 8and, “14A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”; 15for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, 16and to this doom they were also appointed.
9But you are 17a chosen race, a royal 18priesthood, a 19holy nation, 20a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you 21out of darkness into His marvelous light;
