1 Peter 1:13-22

13Therefore, 12prepare your minds for action, 34keep sober in spirit, fix your 5hope completely on the 6grace 7to be brought to you at 8the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14As 910obedient children, do not 1112be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your 13ignorance, 15but 1415like the Holy One who called you, 1617be holy yourselves also 18in all your behavior; 16because it is written, “19You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

17If you 20address as Father the One who 21impartially 22judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves 23in fear during the time of your 24stay on earth; 18knowing that you were not 2526redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your 27futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19but with precious 28blood, as of a 29lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. 20For He was 30foreknown before 31the foundation of the world, but has 32appeared 33in these last times 34for the sake of you 21who through Him are 35believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and 36gave Him glory, so that your faith and 37hope are in God.

22Since you have 38in obedience to the truth 39purified your souls for a 4041sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from 42the heart,
