1 Peter 1:13-19

13Therefore, 1 2prepare your minds for action, 3 4keep sober in spirit, fix your 5hope completely on the 6grace 7to be brought to you at 8the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14As 9 10obedient children, do not 11 12be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your 13ignorance, 15but 14 15like the Holy One who called you, 16 17be holy yourselves also 18in all your behavior; 16because it is written, “19You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

17If you 20address as Father the One who 21impartially 22judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves 23in fear during the time of your 24stay on earth; 18knowing that you were not 25 26redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your 27futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19but with precious 28blood, as of a 29lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
