16And it came to pass, as he talkedבְּדַבְּר֣וֹbe.da.be.RoH1696with him, that the kingsaidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Art thou madeנְתַנּ֔וּךָne.ta.Nu.khaH5414of the king’sלַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙la.Me.lekhH4428counselהַלְיוֹעֵ֤ץhal.yo.'EtzH3289?forbearחֲדַל־cha.dal-H2308;why shouldest thou be smittenיַכּ֑וּךָya.Ku.khaH5221?Then the prophetהַנָּבִ֗יאha.na.Vi'H5030forbareוַיֶּחְדַּ֣לvai.yech.DalH2308,and saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559,I knowיָדַ֗עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045that Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430hath determinedיָעַ֤ץya.'AtzH3289to destroyלְהַשְׁחִיתֶ֔ךָle.hash.chi.Te.khaH7843thee, because thou hast doneעָשִׂ֣יתָ'a.Si.taH6213this, and hast not hearkenedשָׁמַ֖עְתָּsha.Ma'.taH8085unto my counselלַעֲצָתִֽי׃ פla.'a.tza.TiH6098.
17Then Amaziahאֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙'a.matz.Ya.huH558kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063took adviceוַיִּוָּעַ֗ץvai.yi.va.'AtzH3289,and sentוַ֠יִּשְׁלַחVai.yish.lachH7971to Joashיוֹאָ֨שׁyo.'AshH3101,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jehoahazיְהוֹאָחָ֧זye.ho.'a.ChazH3059,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jehuיֵה֛וּאye.Hu'H3058,kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,ComeH3212,let us see one anotherנִתְרָאֶ֥הnit.ra.'EhH7200in the faceפָנִֽים׃fa.NimH6440.

20But Amaziahאֲמַצְיָ֔הוּ'a.matz.Ya.huH558would not hearשָׁמַ֣עsha.Ma'H8085; for it cameof Godמֵהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙me.ha.'E.lo.HimH430,that he might deliverתִּתָּ֣םti.TamH5414them into the handבְּיָ֑דbe.YadH3027of their enemies,because they soughtדָֽרְשׁ֔וּda.re.ShuH1875after the godsאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of Edomאֱדֽוֹם׃'e.DomH123.
