Revelation 9:20
20The people who survived these plagues still did not turn to me and change the way they were thinking and acting. If they had, they would have stopped worshiping demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see, hear, or walk.

Context of Revelation 9:20
18These three plagues—the fire, smoke, and sulfur which came out of their mouths—killed one-third of humanity. 19The power of these horses is in their mouths and their tails. (Their tails have heads like snakes which they use to hurt people.) The people who survived these plagues still did not turn to me and change the way they were thinking and acting. If they had, they would have stopped worshiping demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see, hear, or walk. 21They did not turn away from committing murder, practicing witchcraft, sinning sexually, or stealing.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 20Yet repented not - The commission which these horsemen had was against idolaters; and though multitudes of them were destroyed, yet the residue continued their senseless attachment to dumb idols, and therefore heavier judgments might be expected. These things are supposed to refer to the desolation brought upon the Greek Church by the Ottomans, who entirely ruined that Church and the Greek empire. The writer proceeds to state, however, that these judgments did not have the effect which might reasonably have been anticipated. No reformation followed; there was no abandonment of the…Read the comment
