Context of Philippians 2:20
18Yes, it is right that you should be happy, and I will also be happy with you. 19I want to send Timothy to come to you soon. I hope that the Lord Jesus will let me do that. Then, when Timothy returns to me, he can tell me news about you. And that will make me happy. Timothy really loves you, as I do. There is nobody else here with me like him. 21Everyone else thinks only about themselves. They have no interest in the things that are important to Jesus Christ. 22But you know what Timothy is like. He has worked with me like a son works to help his father. Together we have taught people God's good news.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 19-30Verses 19-30 It is best with us, when our duty becomes natural to us. Naturally, that is, sincerely, and not in pretence only; with a willing heart and upright views. We are apt to prefer our own credit, ease, and safety, before truth, holiness, and duty; but Timothy did not so. Paul desired liberty, not that he might take pleasure, but that he might do good. Epaphroditus was willing to go to the Philippians, that he might be comforted with those who had…Read the comment
