Ruth 4:5-8
5Then BoazH1162 saidH559, “On the dayH3117 you buyH7069 the landH7704 fromH3027 NaomiH5281 and also fromH854 RuthH7327 the MoabitessH4125, you must also acquireH7069 the widowH802 of the deceasedH4191 in order to raiseH6965 up the nameH8034 of the deceasedH4191 onH5921 his inheritanceH5159.”
6The kinsman-redeemerH1350 repliedH559, “I cannotH3808H3201 redeem itH1350 myself, orH6435 I would jeopardizeH7843 my own inheritanceH5159. Take my right of redemptionH1353H1350H859, becauseH3588 I cannotH3808H3201 redeem itH1350.”
7NowH2063 in former timesH6440 in IsraelH3478, concerningH5921 the redemptionH1353H5921 or exchange of propertyH8545, to make anyH3605 matterH1697 legally bindingH6965 a manH376 would removeH8025 his sandalH5275 and give itH5414 to the other partyH7453, and thisH2063 was a confirmationH8584 in IsraelH3478. 8So the kinsman-redeemerH1350 removedH8025 his sandalH5275 and saidH559 to BoazH1162, “BuyH7069 it for yourself.”
