Context of Luke 9:35
33And as they were leaving Yeshua, Peter said to Him, “Master, it’s good for us to be here. Let’s make three sukkot: one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—not knowing what he was saying. 34While he was yet saying these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them; and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. Then a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My Son, the One I have chosen. Listen to Him!” 36And after the voice happened, Yeshua was found alone. They kept quiet and told no one in those days any of the things they had seen. 37On the next day as they came down from the mountain, a large crowd met Yeshua.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 35This is my beloved Son - Instead of ̔ , the beloved one, some MSS. and versions have , the chosen one: and the Ethiopic translator, as in several other cases, to be sure of the true reading, retains both. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 28-36Verses 28-36 Christ's transfiguration was a specimen of that glory in which he will come to judge the world; and was an encouragement to his disciples to suffer for him. Prayer is a transfiguring, transforming duty, which makes the face to shine. Our Lord Jesus, even in his transfiguration, was willing to speak concerning his death and sufferings. In our greatest glories on earth, let us remember that in this world we have no continuing city. What need we…Read the comment
