Context of Luke 6:10
8But He knew their opinions and said to the man with the paralyzed hand, “Get up and stand in our midst.” And getting up, the man stood. 9Yeshua said to them, “I ask you, is it permitted on Shabbat to do good or to do evil, to save or to destroy a life?” Then looking around at everyone, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” The man did, and his hand was restored. 11But they were filled with fury and discussed among themselves what they might do to Yeshua. 12And it was during these days that Yeshua went out to the mountain to pray, and He spent all night in prayer to God.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 10Whole as the other - Many MSS., both here and in the parallel place, Mark 3:5, omit the word ̔, whole. Griesbach leaves it out of the text. The hand was restored as the other. But had it only been a luxated joint, even allowing, with a German critic, that the bone regained its place by the effort made to stretch out the arm, without the intervention of a miracle, it would have required several weeks to restore the muscles and ligaments to their wonted…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 6-11Verses 6-11 Christ was neither ashamed nor afraid to own the purposes of his grace. He healed the poor man, though he knew that his enemies would take advantage against him for it. Let us not be drawn either from our duty or from our usefulness by any opposition. We may well be amazed, that the sons of men should be so wicked.Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 1-11The conflicts between Jesus and the religious leaders continued with two disagreements about the Sabbath. The law of Moses required the Jews to rest on the Sabbath (Exodus 20:8–11; Deuteronomy 5:13–14).
