Context of Hebrews 3:15
13But encourage one another day by day—as long as it is called “Today”—so that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14For we have become partners of Messiah, if we hold our original conviction firm until the end. As it is said, “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” 16Now which ones heard and rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt with Moses? 17And with whom was He provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 15While it is said, To-day - You may see the necessity of perseverance from the saying, "Today, if ye will hear his voice," therefore harden not your hearts - do not neglect so great a salvation; hold fast what ye have obtained, and let no man take your crown. See on Hebrews 3:7-9; (note) and Hebrews 3:12; (note).Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 15While it is said, Today - That is, persevere as long as life lasts, or as long as it can be said “today;” and by persevering in this manner you will have evidence that you are the friends of the Redeemer. This is a quotation from Psalm 95:7. Paul means, undoubtedly, to make use of this language himself as a direct exhortation to the Christians to whom he was writing. He entreats them, therefore, as long as it could be said “today,” or as long as life…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 14-19Verses 14-19 The saints' privilege is, they are made partakers of Christ, that is, of the Spirit, the nature, graces, righteousness, and life of Christ; they are interested in all Christ is, in all he has done, or will do. The same spirit with which Christians set out in the ways of God, they should maintain unto the end. Perseverance in faith is the best evidence of the sincerity of our faith. Hearing the word often is a means of salvation, yet, if not…Read the comment

"It entirely depends on yourselves that the invitation of the ninety-fifth Psalm be not a mere invitation, but also an actual enjoyment."
