Judges 21:1-24

2And the peopleH5971 cameH935 to Beth-el, and satH3427 there tillH5704 evenH5704 beforeH6440 GodH430, and liftedH5375 upH5375 their voicesH6963, and weptH1058 sore.

3And they saidH559, O LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, whyH4100 is this comeH1961 to passH1961 in IsraelH3478, that there should be todayH3117 one tribeH7626 lacking in IsraelH3478?

4And it cameH1961 to passH1961 on the morrow, that the peopleH5971 roseH7925 earlyH7925, and builtH1129 there an altarH4196, and offeredH5927 burntH5930 offeringsH8002 and peaceH8002 offeringsH8002.

9For when the peopleH5971 were numberedH6485, beholdH2009, there were noneH369 of the inhabitantsH3427 of Jabesh-gilead there.

10And the congregationH5712 sentH7971 thither twelveH6240 thousandH505 menH376 of the valiantest, and commandedH6680 them, sayingH559, GoH7971 and smiteH5221 the inhabitantsH3427 of Jabesh-gilead with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719, with the womenH802 and the littleH2945 onesH2945.

11And this is the thingH1697 that ye shall doH6213; ye shall utterly destroyH2763 everyH3605 maleH2145, and everyH3605 womanH802 that hath lain by manH2145.

12And they foundH4672 among the inhabitantsH3427 of Jabesh-gilead fourH702 hundredH3967 youngH5291 virginsH1330, that had notH3808 knownH3045 manH376 by lyingH4904 with him: and they broughtH935 them unto the campH4264 to ShilohH7887, whichH834 is in the landH776 of CanaanH3667.

13And the wholeH3605 congregationH5712 sentH7971 and spake to the childrenH1121 of BenjaminH1144 that were in the rockH5553 of RimmonH7417, and proclaimedH7121 peaceH7965 unto them.

14And BenjaminH1144 returnedH7725 at that time; and they gaveH5414 them the womenH802 whichH834 they had saved aliveH2421 of the womenH802 of Jabesh-gilead: and yet soH3651 they sufficed them notH3808.

15And the peopleH5971 repentedH5162 them for BenjaminH1144, becauseH3588 that the LORDH3068 had madeH6213 a breachH6556 in the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478.

16Then the eldersH2205 of the congregationH5712 saidH559, HowH4100 shall weH3588 doH6213 for wivesH802 for them that remainH3498, seeingH3588 the womenH802 are destroyedH8045 outH4100 of BenjaminH1144?

17And they saidH559, There mustH3808 be an inheritanceH3425 for them that are escapedH6413 of BenjaminH1144, that a tribeH7626 be notH3808 blotted outH4229 from IsraelH3478.

18Howbeit weH587 may notH3808 giveH5414 them wivesH802 of our daughtersH1323: for the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 had swornH7650, sayingH559, CursedH779 be he that giveth a wifeH802 to BenjaminH1144.

19And they saidH559, BeholdH2009, there is a feastH2282 of the LORDH3068 from yearH3117 to yearH3117 in ShilohH7887, whichH834 is on the northH6828 of Beth-el, on the eastH4217 sideH6828 of the highwayH4546 that goeth upH5927 from Beth-el to ShechemH7927, and on the southH5045 of LebonahH3829.

20And they commandedH6680 the childrenH1121 of BenjaminH1144, sayingH559, Go and lieH693 in waitH693 in the vineyardsH3754;

21and seeH7200, and, beholdH2009, ifH518 the daughtersH1323 of ShilohH7887 comeH1980 outH3318 to danceH4246 in the dancesH4246, then comeH1980 ye outH3318 of the vineyardsH3754, and catchH2414 youH518 everyH376 manH376 his wifeH802 of the daughtersH1323 of ShilohH7887, and goH1980 to the landH776 of BenjaminH1144.

24And the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 departedH1980 thence at that time, everyH376 manH376 to his tribeH7626 and to his familyH4940, and they wentH1980 outH3318 from thence everyH376 manH376 to his inheritanceH5159.
