Judges 11:1-7
NowH1961 JephthahH3316 the GileaditeH1569 was a mightyH1368 manH1368 of valour, and he was the sonH1121 of an harlotH2181: and GileadH1568 begat JephthahH3316.
And Gilead’sH1568 wifeH802 bare him sonsH1121; and when his wife’sH802 sonsH1121 grewH1431 upH1431, they drave outH1644 JephthahH3316, and saidH559 unto him, Thou shalt notH3808 inheritH5157 in our father’sH1 houseH1004; for thou art the sonH1121 of anotherH312 womanH802.
Then JephthahH3316 fledH1272 from his brethrenH251, and dweltH3427 in the landH776 of TobH2897: and there were gatheredH3950 vain fellowsH376 to JephthahH3316, and they wentH3318 outH3318 with him.
And it cameH1961 to passH1961 afterH1961 a whileH1961, that the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983 madeH1961 war againstH5973 IsraelH3478.
And it was soH3947, that when the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983 madeH1961 war againstH5973 IsraelH3478, the eldersH2205 of GileadH1568 wentH1961 to fetch JephthahH3316 outH853 of the landH776 of TobH2897:
and they saidH559 unto JephthahH3316, ComeH1961 and be our chiefH7101, that we may fightH3898 with the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983.
And JephthahH3316 saidH559 unto the eldersH2205 of GileadH1568, DidH834 notH3808 ye hateH8130 meH413, and driveH1644 meH413 outH1644 of my father’sH1 houseH1004? and whyH4069 are ye comeH935 unto meH413 nowH6258 when ye are in distressH6862?
