Revised Version 1895
Exodus 13:2-15
SanctifyH6942 unto meH3605 allH3605 the firstbornH1060, whatsoeverH3605 openeth the wombH7358 among the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, bothH3605 of manH120 and of beastH929: it is mine.
And MosesH4872 saidH559 unto the peopleH5971, RememberH2142 this dayH3117, in whichH834 ye cameH3318 outH3318 from EgyptH4714, outH3318 of the houseH1004 of bondageH5650; for by strengthH3027 of handH3027 the LORDH3068 broughtH3318 youH834 outH3318 from this placeH3027: there shall noH3808 leavenedH2557 breadH2557 be eatenH398.
This dayH3117 ye goH3318 forthH3318 in the monthH2320 AbibH24.
And it shall be when the LORDH3068 shall bringH935 thee intoH413 the landH776 of the CanaaniteH3669, and the HittiteH2850, and the AmoriteH567, and the HiviteH2340, and the JebusiteH2983, whichH834 he sware unto thy fathersH1 to giveH5414 thee, a landH776 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706, that thou shalt keepH5647 this serviceH5656 in this monthH2320.
SevenH7651 daysH3117 thou shalt eatH398 unleavenedH4682 breadH4682, and in the seventhH7637 dayH3117 shall be a feastH2282 to the LORDH3068.
UnleavenedH4682 breadH4682 shall be eatenH398 throughoutH3605 the sevenH7651 daysH3117; and there shall noH3808 leavenedH2557 breadH4682 be seenH7200 with thee, neitherH3808 shall there be leavenH7603 seenH7200 with thee, in allH3605 thy bordersH1366.
And thou shalt tellH5046 thy sonH1121 in that dayH3117, sayingH559, It is becauseH5668 of that whichH1931 the LORDH3068 didH6213 for meH5046 when I cameH3318 forthH3318 outH3318 of EgyptH4714.
And it shall be for a signH226 unto thee uponH5921 thine handH3027, and for a memorialH2146 betweenH996 thine eyesH5869, that the lawH8451 of the LORDH3068 may be in thy mouthH6310: for with a strongH2389 handH3027 hath the LORDH3068 broughtH3318 thee outH3318 of EgyptH4714.
Thou shalt therefore keepH8104 this ordinanceH2708 in itsH853 seasonH4150 from yearH3117 to yearH3117.
And it shall be when the LORDH3068 shall bringH935 thee intoH413 the landH776 of the CanaaniteH3669, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathersH1, and shall giveH5414 it thee,
that thou shalt setH834 apart unto the LORDH3068 allH3605 that openeth the wombH7358, and everyH3605 firstlingH6363 whichH834 thou hast that cometh of a beastH929; the malesH2145 shall be the LORD’SH3068.
And everyH3605 firstlingH6363 of an ass thou shalt redeemH6299 with a lambH7716; and ifH518 thou wilt notH3808 redeemH6299 it, then thou shalt breakH6202 itsH3605 neckH6202: and allH3605 the firstbornH1060 of manH120 among thy sonsH1121 shalt thou redeemH6299.
And it shall be when thy sonH1121 asketh thee in time to comeH1961, sayingH559, WhatH4100 is this? that thou shalt sayH559 unto him, By strengthH3027 of handH3027 the LORDH3068 broughtH3318 usH413 outH3318 from EgyptH4714, from the houseH1004 of bondageH5650:
and it cameH1961 to passH1961, when PharaohH6547 would hardly letH7971 usH5921 goH7971, that the LORDH3068 slewH2026 allH3605 the firstbornH1060 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, bothH3605 the firstbornH1060 of manH120, and the firstbornH1060 of beastH929: therefore I sacrificeH2076 to the LORDH3068 allH3605 that openeth the wombH7358, beingH1961 malesH2145; but allH3605 the firstbornH1060 of my sonsH1121 I redeemH6299.
