Revised Version 1895
Exodus 12:3-27
SpeakH1696 ye unto allH3605 the congregationH5712 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, In the tenthH6218 dayH2320 of this monthH2320 they shall takeH3947 to them everyH3605 manH376 a lambH7716, accordingH413 to their fathers’H1 housesH1004, a lambH7716 for an householdH1004:
and ifH518 the householdH1004 be tooH5921 littleH4591 for a lambH7716, then shall he and his neighbour nextH5921 unto his houseH1004 takeH3947 one accordingH5921 to the numberH4373 of the soulsH5315; accordingH5921 to everyH376 man’sH376 eating ye shall makeH4591 your count for the lambH7716.
Your lambH3532 shall be withoutH8549 blemishH8549, a maleH2145 of the first yearH8141: ye shall takeH3947 it from the sheepH7716, or from the goatsH5795:
and ye shall keepH4931 it upH5704 untilH5704 the fourteenth dayH3117 of the sameH2088 monthH2320: and the wholeH3605 assemblyH6951 of the congregationH5712 of IsraelH3478 shall killH7819 it at evenH5704.
And they shall takeH3947 of the bloodH1818, and putH5414 it on the twoH8147 side postsH4201 and on the lintelH4947, uponH5921 the housesH1004 whereinH834 they shall eatH398 it.
And they shall eatH398 the fleshH1320 in that nightH3915, roastH6748 with fireH784, and unleavenedH4682 breadH4682; with bitterH4844 herbsH4844 they shall eatH398 it.
EatH398 notH408 of it rawH4995, norH408 sodden at allH398 with waterH4325, but roastH6748 with fireH784; itsH398 headH7218 with itsH398 legsH3767 and with the inwards thereof.
And ye shall letH3808 nothingH3808 of it remainH3498 untilH5704 the morningH1242; but that whichH784 remaineth of it untilH5704 the morningH1242 ye shall burnH8313 with fireH784.
And thusH3602 shall ye eatH398 it; with your loinsH4975 girdedH2296, your shoesH5275 on your feetH7272, and your staffH4731 in your handH3027: and ye shall eatH398 it in hasteH2649: it is the LORD’SH3068 passoverH6453,
For I will goH5674 throughH5674 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 in that nightH3915, and will smiteH5221 allH3605 the firstbornH1060 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, bothH3605 manH120 and beastH929; and againstH4714 allH3605 the godsH430 of EgyptH4714 I will execute judgmentsH8201: I am the LORDH3068.
And the bloodH1818 shall be to youH859 for a token uponH5921 the housesH1004 whereH834 ye are: and when I seeH7200 the bloodH1818, I will passH1961 over youH859, and there shall noH3808 plagueH5063 be uponH5921 youH859 to destroyH5221 youH859, when I smiteH5221 the landH776 of EgyptH4714.
And this dayH3117 shall be unto youH3117 for a memorialH2146, and ye shall keep it a feastH2282 to the LORDH3068: throughoutH1755 your generationsH1755 ye shall keep it a feastH2282 by an ordinanceH2708 for everH5769.
SevenH7651 daysH3117 shall ye eatH398 unleavenedH4682 breadH4682; evenH5704 the firstH7223 dayH3117 ye shall put awayH3605 leavenH7603 outH3605 of your housesH1004: for whosoever eateth leavenedH2557 breadH4682 from the firstH7223 dayH3117 untilH5704 the seventhH7637 dayH3117, that soulH5315 shall be cutH3772 offH3772 from IsraelH3478.
And in the firstH7223 dayH3117 there shall be to youH834 an holyH6944 convocationH4744, and in the seventhH7637 dayH3117 an holyH6944 convocationH4744; noH3808 manner of workH4399 shall be doneH6213 in them, saveH5315 that whichH834 everyH3605 manH5315 mustH3808 eatH398, that onlyH389 may be doneH6213 of youH834.
And ye shall observeH8104 the feast of unleavenedH4682 breadH4682; for in this selfsame dayH3117 have I broughtH3318 your hostsH6635 outH3318 of the landH776 of EgyptH4714: therefore shall ye observeH8104 this dayH3117 throughoutH1755 your generationsH1755 by an ordinanceH2708 for everH5769.
In the firstH7223 monthH2320, on the fourteenth dayH3117 of the monthH2320 at evenH5704, ye shall eatH398 unleavenedH4682 breadH4682, untilH5704 the one and twentiethH6242 dayH3117 of the monthH2320 at evenH5704.
SevenH7651 daysH3117 shall there be noH3808 leavenH7603 foundH4672 in your housesH1004: for whosoever eateth that whichH1931 is leavenedH2557, that soulH5315 shall be cutH3772 offH3772 from the congregationH5712 of IsraelH3478, whether he be a sojournerH1616, or one that is bornH3808 in the landH776.
Ye shall eatH398 nothingH3808 leavenedH2557; in allH3605 your habitationsH4186 shall ye eatH398 unleavenedH4682 breadH4682.
Then MosesH4872 calledH7121 for allH3605 the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478, and saidH559 unto them, DrawH4900 outH413, and takeH3947 youH3605 lambsH6629 accordingH413 to your familiesH4940, and killH7819 the passoverH6453.
And ye shall takeH3947 a bunchH92 of hyssopH231, and dipH2881 it in the bloodH1818 that is in the bason, and strikeH5060 the lintelH4947 and the twoH8147 side postsH4201 with the bloodH1818 that is in the bason; and noneH3808 of youH859 shall goH3318 outH3318 of the doorH6607 of his houseH1004 untilH5704 the morningH1242.
For the LORDH3068 will passH5674 throughH5674 to smiteH5062 the EgyptiansH4714; and when he seeth the bloodH1818 uponH5921 the lintelH4947, and on the twoH8147 side postsH4201, the LORDH3068 will passH5674 over the doorH6607, and will notH3808 sufferH1004 the destroyerH7843 to comeH935 in unto your housesH1004 to smiteH5062 youH5414.
And ye shall observeH8104 this thingH1697 for an ordinanceH2706 to thee and to thy sonsH1121 for everH5769.
And it shall comeH935 to passH935, when ye be comeH935 to the landH776 whichH834 the LORDH3068 will giveH5414 youH834, accordingH413 as he hath promisedH1696, that ye shall keepH8104 this serviceH5656.
And it shall comeH1961 to passH1961, when your childrenH1121 shall sayH559 unto youH3588, WhatH4100 mean ye by this serviceH5656?
that ye shall sayH559, It is the sacrificeH2077 of the LORD’SH3068 passoverH6453, who passed over the housesH1004 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 in EgyptH4714, when he smoteH5062 the EgyptiansH4714, and deliveredH5337 our housesH1004. And the peopleH5971 bowedH7812 the head and worshipped.
