Revised Version 1895
2 Samuel 13:1-5
1And it cameH1961 to passH1961 afterH310 this, that AbsalomH53 the sonH1121 of DavidH1732 had a fairH3303 sisterH269, whoseH1121 nameH8034 was TamarH8559; and AmnonH550 the sonH1121 of DavidH1732 lovedH157 herH1961.
2And AmnonH550 was soH6213 vexed that he fell sickH2470 becauseH3588 of his sisterH269 TamarH8559; for sheH1931 was a virginH1330; and it seemedH5869 hardH6381 to AmnonH550 to doH6213 anyH3972 thingH3588 unto herH3588.
3But AmnonH550 had a friendH7453, whoseH1121 nameH8034 was JonadabH3122, the sonH1121 of ShimeahH8093 David’sH1732 brotherH251: and JonadabH3122 was a veryH3966 subtil manH376.
4And he saidH559 unto him, WhyH4069, O sonH1121 of the kingH4428, art thou thusH3602 lean from dayH1242 to dayH1242? wilt thou notH3808 tellH5046 meH5046? And AmnonH550 saidH559 unto him, I loveH157 TamarH8559, my brotherH251 Absalom’sH53 sisterH269.
5And JonadabH3082 saidH559 unto him, LayH7901 thee downH7901 on thy bedH4904, and feign thyself sickH2470: and when thy fatherH1 cometh to seeH7200 thee, sayH559 unto him, LetH4994 my sisterH269 TamarH8559 comeH935, I prayH4994 thee, and giveH398 meH413 breadH3899 to eatH398, and dress the foodH3899 in my sightH5869, that I may seeH7200 it, and eatH398 it at herH413 handH3027.
