Revised Version 1895
2 Samuel 12:1-5
1And the LORDH3068 sentH7971 NathanH5416 unto DavidH1732. And he cameH935 unto him, and saidH559 unto him, There were twoH8147 menH376 in one cityH5892; the one richH6223, and the otherH259 poorH7326.
2The richH6223 manH6223 had exceedingH3966 manyH7235 flocksH6629 and herdsH1241:
3but the poorH7326 manH1121 had nothingH369, save one littleH6996 eweH3535 lambH3535, whichH834 he had boughtH7069 and nourished upH1431: and it grewH1431 upH1431 togetherH3162 with him, and with his childrenH1121; it didH834 eatH398 of his ownH1961 morselH6595, and drankH8354 of his ownH1961 cupH3563, and layH7901 in his bosomH2436, and was unto him as a daughterH1323.
4And there cameH935 a traveller unto the richH6223 manH376, and he sparedH2550 to takeH3947 of his ownH376 flockH6629 and of his ownH376 herdH1241, to dress for the wayfaring manH376 that was comeH935 unto him, but tookH3947 the poorH7326 man’sH376 lambH3535, and dressed it for the manH376 that was comeH935 to him.
5And David’sH1732 angerH639 was greatlyH3966 kindledH2734 againstH413 the manH376; and he saidH559 to NathanH5416, As the LORDH3068 liveth, the manH376 that hath doneH6213 this is worthy to dieH4194:
