Samuel 11:2-12
And it cameH1961 to passH1961 at eventide, that DavidH1732 aroseH6965 from offH5921 his bedH4904, and walkedH1980 uponH5921 the roofH1406 of the king’sH4428 houseH1004: and from the roofH1406 he sawH7200 a womanH802 bathingH7364; and the womanH802 was veryH3966 beautifulH4758 to lookH7200 uponH5921.
And DavidH1732 sentH7971 and inquiredH1875 afterH1875 the womanH802. And one saidH559, Is notH3808 this Bath-sheba, the daughterH1323 of EliamH463, the wifeH802 of UriahH223 the HittiteH2850?
And DavidH1732 sentH7971 messengersH4397, and tookH3947 herH413; and sheH1931 cameH935 in unto him, and he layH7901 with herH413; (for sheH1931 was purifiedH6942 from herH413 uncleannessH2932;) and sheH1931 returnedH7725 unto herH413 houseH1004.
And the womanH802 conceivedH2029; and she sentH7971 and toldH5046 DavidH1732, and saidH559, I am with childH2030.
And DavidH1732 sentH7971 to JoabH3097, saying, SendH7971 meH413 UriahH223 the HittiteH2850. And JoabH3097 sentH7971 UriahH223 to DavidH1732.
And when UriahH223 was comeH935 unto him, DavidH1732 askedH7592 of him howH7965 JoabH3097 did, and howH7965 the peopleH5971 fared, and howH7965 the warH4421 prospered.
And DavidH1732 saidH559 to UriahH223, GoH3318 downH3381 thy houseH1004, and washH7364 thy feetH7272. And UriahH223 departedH3318 outH3318 of the king’sH4428 houseH1004, and there followedH310 him a mess of meat from the kingH4428.
But UriahH223 sleptH7901 at the doorH6607 of the king’sH4428 houseH1004 with allH3605 the servantsH5650 of his lordH113, and wentH3381 notH3808 downH3381 to his houseH1004.
And when they had toldH5046 DavidH1732, sayingH559, UriahH223 wentH935 notH3808 downH3381 unto his houseH1004, DavidH1732 saidH559 unto UriahH223, Art thou notH3808 comeH935 from a journeyH1870? wherefore didst thou notH3808 goH935 downH3381 unto thine houseH1004?
And UriahH223 saidH559 unto DavidH1732, The arkH727, and IsraelH3478, and JudahH3063, abideH3427 in boothsH5521; and my lordH113 JoabH3097, and the servantsH5650 of my lordH113, are encampedH2583 in the openH6440 fieldH7704; shall I then goH935 intoH413 mineH5973 houseH1004, to eatH398 and to drinkH8354 and to lieH7901 with my wifeH802? as thou livest, and as thy soulH5315 liveth, I will notH2088 doH6213 this thingH1697.
And DavidH1732 saidH559 to UriahH223, Tarry hereH2088 todayH3117 also, and tomorrowH4279 I will letH7971 thee depart. SoH7971 UriahH223 abodeH3427 in JerusalemH3389 that dayH3117, and the morrow.
