Kings 2:16-28
And nowH6258 I askH7592 one petitionH7596 of thee, deny meH413 notH408. And sheH7596 saidH559 unto him, SayH559 on.
And he saidH559, SpeakH559, I prayH4994 thee, unto SolomonH8010 the kingH4428, (for he will notH3808 sayH559 thee nay,) that he giveH5414 meH5414 AbishagH49 the ShunammiteH7767 to wifeH802.
And Bath-sheba saidH559, WellH2896; I will speakH1696 for thee unto the kingH4428.
Bath-sheba therefore wentH935 unto kingH4428 SolomonH8010, to speakH1696 unto him for AdonijahH138. And the kingH4428 roseH6965 upH6965 to meetH7125 herH413, and bowedH7812 himselfH7812 unto herH413, and satH3427 downH7812 on his throneH3678, and causedH6965 a throneH3678 to be setH7760 for the king’sH4428 motherH517; and sheH517 satH3427 on his rightH3225 handH3225.
Then sheH3588 saidH559, I askH7592 one smallH6996 petitionH7596 of thee; deny meH6440 notH3808. And the kingH4428 saidH559 unto herH7592, AskH7592 on, my motherH517: for I will notH3808 deny thee.
And she saidH559, LetH5414 AbishagH49 the ShunammiteH7767 be givenH5414 to AdonijahH138 thy brotherH251 to wifeH802.
And kingH4428 SolomonH8010 answeredH559 and saidH559 unto his motherH517, And whyH4100 dost thou askH7592 AbishagH49 the ShunammiteH7767 for AdonijahH138? askH7592 for him the kingdomH4410 also; for he is mineH4480 elderH1419 brotherH251; evenH3588 for him, and for AbiatharH54 the priestH3548, and for JoabH3097 the sonH1121 of ZeruiahH6870.
Then kingH4428 SolomonH8010 sware by the LORDH3068, sayingH559, GodH430 doH6213 soH6213 to meH5315, and moreH3254 also, ifH3588 AdonijahH138 have notH2088 spokenH1696 this wordH1697 againstH1696 his ownH5315 lifeH5315.
NowH6258 therefore as the LORDH3068 liveth, who hath establishedH3559 meH5921, and setH3559 meH5921 on the throneH3678 of DavidH1732 my fatherH1, and who hath madeH6213 meH5921 an houseH1004, as he promisedH1696, surelyH3588 AdonijahH138 shall be putH4191 to deathH4191 this dayH3117.
And kingH4428 SolomonH8010 sentH7971 by the handH3027 of BenaiahH1141 the sonH1121 of JehoiadaH3077; and he fellH6293 uponH6293 him, that he diedH4191.
And unto AbiatharH54 the priestH3548 saidH559 the kingH4428, Get thee to AnathothH6068, unto thine ownH376 fieldsH7704; for thou art worthy of deathH4191: but I will notH3808 at this time putH4191 thee to deathH4191, becauseH3588 thou barest the arkH727 of the LordH136 GODH136 beforeH6440 DavidH1732 my fatherH1, and becauseH3588 thou wast afflictedH5921 in allH3605 whereinH834 my fatherH1 was afflictedH5921.
SoH1961 SolomonH8010 thrust outH1644 AbiatharH54 from beingH1961 priestH3548 unto the LORDH3068; that he might fulfillH4390 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, whichH834 he spake concerning the houseH1004 of EliH5941 in ShilohH7887.
And the tidingsH8052 cameH935 to JoabH3097: for JoabH3097 had turnedH5186 afterH310 AdonijahH138, thoughH3588 he turnedH5186 notH3808 afterH310 AbsalomH53. And JoabH3097 fledH5127 unto the TentH168 of the LORDH3068, and caughtH2388 holdH2388 on the hornsH7161 of the altarH4196.
