Kings 1:9-25
And AdonijahH138 slew sheepH6629 and oxenH1241 and fatlingsH4806 by the stoneH68 of ZohelethH2120, whichH834 is besideH681 En-rogelH5883; and he calledH7121 allH3605 his brethrenH251 the king’sH4428 sonsH1121, and allH3605 the menH376 of JudahH3063 the king’sH4428 servantsH5650:
but NathanH5416 the prophetH5030, and BenaiahH1141, and the mightyH1368 menH1368, and SolomonH8010 his brotherH251, he calledH7121 notH3808.
Then NathanH5416 spake unto Bath-sheba the motherH517 of SolomonH8010, sayingH559, Hast thou notH3808 heardH8085 that AdonijahH138 the sonH1121 of HaggithH2294 doth reignH4427, and DavidH1732 our lordH113 knoweth it notH3808?
NowH6258 therefore comeH4994, letH4994 meH4994, I prayH4994 thee, giveH3289 thee counselH6098, that thou mayest saveH4422 thine ownH5315 lifeH5315, and the lifeH5315 of thy sonH1121 SolomonH8010.
GoH935 and getH935 thee in unto kingH4428 DavidH1732, and sayH559 unto him, Didst notH3808 thou, my lordH113, O kingH4428, swearH7650 unto thine handmaidH519, sayingH559, Assuredly SolomonH8010 thy sonH1121 shall reignH4427 afterH310 meH413, and he shall sitH3427 uponH5921 my throneH3678? whyH4069 then doth AdonijahH138 reignH4427?
BeholdH2009, whileH5750 thou yet talkest there with the kingH4428, I also will comeH935 in afterH310 thee, and confirmH4390 thy wordsH1697.
And Bath-sheba wentH935 in unto the kingH4428 intoH413 the chamberH2315: and the kingH4428 was veryH3966 oldH2204; and AbishagH49 the ShunammiteH7767 ministeredH8334 unto the kingH4428.
And Bath-sheba bowedH7812, and didH4100 obeisance unto the kingH4428. And the kingH4428 saidH559, WhatH4100 wouldest thou?
And sheH1931 saidH559 unto him, My lordH3068, thou swarest by the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 unto thine handmaidH519, sayingH559, Assuredly SolomonH8010 thy sonH1121 shall reignH4427 afterH310 meH5921, and he shah sitH3427 uponH5921 my throneH3678.
And nowH6258, beholdH2009, AdonijahH138 reigneth; and thou, my lordH113 the kingH4428, knowest it notH3808:
and he hath slain oxenH7794 and fatlingsH4806 and sheepH6629 in abundanceH7230, and hath calledH7121 allH3605 the sonsH1121 of the kingH4428, and AbiatharH54 the priestH3548, and JoabH3097 the captainH8269 of the hostH6635: but SolomonH8010 thy servantH5650 hath he notH3808 calledH7121.
And thou, my lordH113 the kingH4428, the eyesH5869 of allH3605 IsraelH3478 are uponH5921 thee, that thou shouldest tellH5046 them who shall sitH3427 on the throneH3678 of my lordH113 the kingH4428 afterH310 him.
Otherwise it shall comeH1961 to passH1961, when my lordH113 the kingH4428 shall sleepH7901 with his fathersH1, that I and my sonH1121 SolomonH8010 shall be counted offendersH2400.
And, loH2009, whileH5750 sheH5973 yet talkedH1696 with the kingH4428, NathanH5416 the prophetH5030 cameH935 in.
And they toldH5046 the kingH4428, sayingH559, BeholdH2009, NathanH5416 the prophetH5030. And when he was comeH935 in beforeH6440 the kingH4428, he bowedH7812 himselfH7812 beforeH6440 the kingH4428 with his faceH6440 to the groundH776.
And NathanH5416 saidH559, My lordH113, O kingH4428, hast thou saidH559, AdonijahH138 shall reignH4427 afterH310 meH5921, and he shall sitH3427 uponH5921 my throneH3678?
For he is goneH3381 downH3381 this dayH3117, and hath slain oxenH7794 and fatlingsH4806 and sheepH6629 in abundanceH7230, and hath calledH7121 allH3605 the king’sH4428 sonsH1121, and the captainsH8269 of the hostH6635, and AbiatharH54 the priestH3548; and, beholdH2009, they eatH398 and drinkH8354 beforeH6440 him, and sayH559, GodH559 save kingH4428 AdonijahH138.
