Context of John 12:47
45and the one who sees me sees the one who sent me. 46I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in darkness. If anyone hears my words and does not obey them, I do not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world. 48The one who rejects me and does not accept my words has a judge; the word I have spoken will judge him at the last day. 49For I have not spoken from my own authority, but the Father himself who sent me has commanded me what I should say and what I should speak.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 47I judge him not - John 8:15. It was not his present purpose to condemn men. He would come to condemn the guilty at a future time. At present he came to save them. Hence he did not now even pronounce decisively on the condition of those who rejected him, but still gave them an opportunity to be saved.Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 44-50Verses 44-50 Our Lord publicly proclaimed, that every one who believed on him, as his true disciple, did not believe on him only, but on the Father who sent him. By daily looking to Him, who came a Light into the world, we are more and more freed from the darkness of ignorance, error, sin, and misery; we learn that the command of God our Saviour is everlasting life.
