Lamentations 2:11-22
11My 1eyesH5869 failH3615 because of tearsH1832, My 23spiritH4578 is greatlyH2560 troubledH2560; My 45heartH3516 is pouredH8210 outH8210 on the earthH776 6BecauseH5921 of the 7destructionH7667 of the daughterH1323 of my peopleH5971, When 8littleH5768 onesH5768 and infantsH3243 languishH5848 In the streetsH7339 of the cityH7151.12They sayH559 to their mothersH517, “9WhereH346 is grainH1715 and wineH3196?” As they faintH5848 like a woundedH2491 personH2491 In the streetsH7339 of the cityH5892, As their 10livesH5315 are pouredH8210 outH8210 11In their mothers’H517 armsH2436.13HowH4100 shall I admonishH5749 you? WhatH4100 12shall I compareH1819 to you, DaughterH1323 of JerusalemH3389? WhatH4100 shall I likenH7737 to you as I comfortH5162 you, 13VirginH1330 daughterH1323 of ZionH6726? For your collapseH7667 is as vastH1419 as the seaH3220; WhoH4310 can 14healH7495 you?14Your 15prophetsH5030 have seenH2372 for you WorthlessH7723 and deceptiveH8602 visions; And they have not 16exposedH1540 your wrongdoingH5771 So as to restoreH7725 you from captivityH7622, But they have 17seenH2372 for you worthlessH7723 and misleadingH4065 pronouncementsH4065.15AllH3605 who passH5674 alongH5674 the wayH1870 18ClapH5606 their handsH3709 in ridicule at you; They 1920hissH8319 and shakeH5128 their headsH7218 At the daughterH1323 of JerusalemH3389: “Is thisH2088 the cityH5892 of whichH7945 they saidH559, ‘21PerfectH3632 in beautyH3308, 22A joyH4885 to allH3605 the earthH776’?”16AllH3605 23your enemiesH340 Have openedH6475 their mouthsH6310 wideH6475 againstH5921 you; They 24hissH8319 and 25gnashH2786 their teethH8127. They sayH559, “We have 26engulfedH1104 her! ThisH2088 certainlyH389 is the 27dayH3117 whichH7945 we awaitedH6960; We have reachedH4672 it, we have seenH7200 it!”17The LordH3068 has 28doneH6213 whatH834 He determinedH2161; He has accomplishedH1214 His wordH565 WhichH834 He commandedH6680 from daysH3117 of oldH6924. He has tornH2040 downH2040 29withoutH3808 sparingH2550, And He has helped the enemyH340 to 30rejoiceH8055 overH5921 you; He has 31exaltedH7311 the 32mightH7161 of your adversariesH6862.18Their 33heartH3820 criedH6817 outH6817 to the LordH136: “You 34wallH2346 of the daughterH1323 of ZionH6726, Let your 35tearsH1832 streamH3381 downH3381 like a riverH5158 dayH3119 and nightH3915; GiveH5414 yourself noH408 reliefH6314, Let 36your eyesH5869 haveH1826 noH408 restH1826.19AriseH6965, whimperH7442 in the 37nightH3915 At the beginningH7218 of the night watchesH821; 38PourH8210 outH8210 your heartH3820 like waterH4325 BeforeH5227 the presenceH6440 of the LordH136; RaiseH5375 your handsH3709 to Him For the 39lifeH5315 of your littleH5768 onesH5768 Who 40languishH5848 because of hungerH7458 At the headH7218 of everyH3605 streetH2351.20SeeH7200, LordH3068, and lookH5027! With 41whomH4310 have You dealtH5953 thisH3541 wayH3541? Should womenH802 reallyH518 42eatH398 their 43childrenH6529, The littleH5768 onesH5768 whoH2949 wereH2949 44bornH2949 healthyH2949? Should 45priestH3548 and prophetH5030 reallyH518 be killedH2026 In the sanctuaryH4720 of the LordH136?21On the groundH776 in the streetsH2351 LieH7901 46youngH5288 and oldH2205; My 47virginsH1330 and my youngH970 menH970 Have fallenH5307 by the swordH2719. You have putH2026 them toH2026 deathH2026 on the dayH3117 of Your angerH639, You have slaughteredH2873, 48withoutH3808 sparingH2550.22You calledH7121 as on the dayH3117 of an appointedH4150 feastH4150 My 49terrorsH4032 on everyH5439 sideH5439; And there was 50noH3808 one whoH6412 survivedH6412 or escapedH8300 On the dayH3117 of the Lord’sH3068 angerH639. As for those 51whomH834 I broughtH2946 forthH2946 healthyH2946 and whom I raisedH7235, My enemyH340 annihilatedH3615 them.”
