Proverbs 7:6-23

6For 1at the window of my house I looked out 2through my lattice,7And I saw among the 34naive, And discerned among the 5youths A young man 6lacking 7sense,8Passing through the street near 8her corner; And he 9takes the way to 10her house,9In the 11twilight, in the 12evening, In the 13middle of the night and in the darkness.10And behold, a woman comes to meet him, 14Dressed as a harlot and cunning of heart.11She is 15boisterous and rebellious, Her 16feet do not remain at home;12She is now in the streets, now 17in the squares, And 18lurks by every corner.13So she seizes him and kisses him 19And with a 20brazen face she says to him:14“21I was due to offer 22peace offerings; Today I have 23paid my vows.15Therefore I have come out to meet you, To seek your presence earnestly, and I have found you.16I have spread my couch with 24coverings, With colored 25linens of Egypt.17I have sprinkled my bed With 26myrrh, aloes and 27cinnamon.18Come, let us drink our fill of love until morning; Let us delight ourselves with caresses.19For 28my husband is not at home, He has gone on a long journey;20He has taken a 29bag of money 30with him, At the full moon he will come home.”21With her many persuasions she entices him; With her 3132flattering lips she seduces him.22Suddenly he follows her As an ox goes to the slaughter, Or as 33one in fetters to the discipline of a fool,23Until an arrow pierces through his liver; As a 34bird hastens to the snare, So he does not know that it will cost him his life.
