John 6:59-64

59These things He said 1in the synagogue as He taught 2in Capernaum.

60Therefore many of His 3disciples, when they heard this said, “4This is a difficult statement; who can listen to it?” 61But Jesus, 5conscious that His disciples grumbled at this, said to them, “Does this 6cause you to stumble? 62What then if you see 7the Son of Man 8ascending to where He was before? 63 9It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; 10the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. 64But there are 11some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus 12knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and 13who it was that would 14betray Him.
